Sonnet: Spousal Love

I know your heart is full of love for me,
Love that’s genuine and coming straight from heart;
Love that springs forth always spontaneously;
Love that’s showered in umpteen ways with art.

Oh, what finesse and magic has your love!
That works like balm and soothes my ailing heart;
And quenches my thirst like a fountain now;
The unseen force that triggers forth my art.

A spouse’s love is like a steep mountain,
Whose peak remains for long unreached, unseen;
’Tis waxing, waning; ’Tis sure and certain,
And keeps the sacred bond, always with sheen.

Praise be the spousal love that grows always,
In geometric proportions in one’s case.
