Sonnet: The Man on the Holy Cross
In Calvary, stood long ago a Cross!
That bore a special man called Jesus Christ,
The Son of God who died for us because,
Redeeming sinners forever- His thirst.
Though many had been crucified before,
The Savior’s death was fore-old in scriptures;
Maimed, humiliated, tortured to the core,
He shed His blood, suffered for man’s future.
And Jesus rose from death on the third day!
All on His own for He was Son of God;
All Christians thenceforth shall follow His way,
And men of other faiths too, tho’ from clod.
The Savior’s Resurrection was a feat!
All Satan’s devils could not Him defeat.
