The Explanation
I tried to
Be like you
I really did try
To make you proud
So many things
Got in my way
Then the chaos and confusion
Became too loud
When one exists
In a world of doubt
Unmet needs
A tainted soul breeds
The emptiness inside
Begins to grow
Raging pain and
Sorrow flow
Been trying ever since
To fill that hole
Fighting against the urge
To just let go
Give in and give up on life
On myself
No one hears
The cries for help
I've prayed
I've tried
I've begged
I've cried
Lord, if you are listening
I'm desperate for
Peace of mind
So sick and tired
Of being sick and tired
Always at odds with
What my heart desires
I know you may not
Understand
It's okay
I hardly can
I try to be grateful
Yet I find
I'd rather be anyone
Other than
