A demon visited Martin Luther
without invitation
and he threw an inkpot
to make it disappear
and God’s blood, the wine
expelled it to where the sun doesn’t shine.
A demon visited me
without invitation
with murderous eyes glowing red
and it wasn’t beautiful
but a monster, black, full of venom
but God’s name, made it pine away
and that demon was uninvited.
