If there be joy
Then why thrives pain
If peace can be
Then why this war
If good be real
Then who is good
If fate be fixed
Then why the twist
If bad be bad
Then where went good
If time be life
Then where runs it
If death be the finish line
Then who has won
If money be power
Then who has it
If love be true
Then where lies it
If all hearts beat
Then what does it beat for
If earth be shaken
And nature be frowning
And time be running
And power be ruining
And hearts be breaking

And God be watching
And good be losing
