Growing Up......
At what point is the optimism of youth
Replaced by the absolute truth?
No longer relish a brand new day
Pessimism douses the glee ofay!
Christmas Glistens
To pounds and pence
Over listens
To take offence
Overindulgence
With hurt pride
Lessons learnt
With no safe side
Love made during Vodka and coke
Say I love you
Pitiful joke
Bury the hatchet
With the treasure
Unable to return to childhood pleasure
Each bird song
And sun filled day
I miss the exhuberance
Of a childhood day
