Self doubt

Hear that noise behind my head?
It's them talking, they wish me dead.
Their words of scorn seep down and true,
in my shoes what would you do too?

Dig a hole and hide my head?
Or edge off a cliff and dropp like lead?
Pop the pill and fall to sleep?
My mangled body in a heap.

Death is easy, Life's a chore.
But unlike death, it's not a bore.
So suck it up and stick it out,
It's not them, but you that doubts.

Self infliction hurts the most,
but doubt yourself and you are toast.
So stay just that hour longer,
and to life you may actually grow fonder.
