A Sad Tale

I saw him last drinking native wine
In a wooden cart he called his home
A far cry from a lovely house he called his own

Ahh, life had brought his misery
Eyes for him were one's of envy
His family adored him immensely

But now all is gone, his family, his friends
No one wanted to be in his company
In pain, his drinking came to an end

I stood there, by that lonely road again
Hoping to see him to ease his pain
Weeping in silence...i know he died in vain
