Leaching Time

The sun sets in more,
on less,
than just the day

As the cataracks of the river
cloud my eyes
and the tears feed the springs
that go dry

I am time that passes you by

Life cuts your wrists
to drain the leeches
as they sigh, always asking
'Why? ', with blood on their lips.

The moon rises
full moon blue
upside down...dark side down
just below the ground

But like the light it gives
but a lie, disguised
A constant wail...discomforting
in the night.
