I'd Rather
I’d rather have wealth that is not too much
Than to be truly rich who can’t sleep at night
I’d rather have one best friend who stayed
Than to have many and left betrayed
I’d rather own simple things and have a humble life
Than to be luxurious but drowned in debts and credit cards
I’d rather be who I am and feel lucky
Than to be pretty through cosmetic surgery
I’d rather be a well-guided child
Than to be old but can’t be a guide
I’d rather be all alone and right
Than to be with them with no peace at heart
I’d rather try yet get no fame
Than to do nothing because of shame
