In The Wind

We watched as darkness would fall
upon our sacred land
still we tried to keep peace at hand
though they would have seen us gone
we kept going on

Killing our men, women and children
we kept living never giving in
proud of who we were
we would make our stand
being as one with all creation

And when they knew we would stay
they tried to change who we are
but still we reached for the light
that would guide us through it all
for we knew this is where we belong
and our time to rise wouldn't be far

Guided by the Great Spirit
we knew thier would be a better day
for in the wind we heard the call
for our future generation
that would make it right
still never to forget
