Skeletons by Talile Ali
she laid beside me all warm and soft
saying so much without speaking
i wondered how i was enchanted by her
i can't remember thinking
about anything special at the time
except that her eyes were sparkling
was it the flourescent lighting in the room
or the sun simply reflecting
like warm pools of water on a bright summers day
i was pulled into some mystical giving
i had to be there in that way
sharing tuna fish like communion
we danced with words on iridology
the science mastered by kings
i held her deep inside my mind
as if a wedding ring
no flesh or bone remained for me
basking in the full sun's light...shards upon a beach
skeletons
