Impalpable Hopefulness

I try to escape into the grace
Of her jewel-like eyes
As we walk through the grass
On a turquoise afternoon.

I supplicate the gentle spring breezes
To rhythmically sway her yellow dress
As the fragrance of first blossoms
Reinvigorates the earth,
My heart is happy in a blissful moment.

I wish to pluck impalpable hopefulness
Like the petals of a flower,
To cherish something that will last
After every superficial difficulty has faded
And the last sorrow has died.

In a future time,
I will become the essence of the music
That makes her dance beneath soft moonlight,
I will be the words of her favorite book
That she presses to her breast
In a room of incense and candlelight.
