Despair - (by LionTamer)

I am lost and confused
I don't know what to do.

Despair grips at me with
its tenacious claws
It rips and tears
It even mauls.

Sloshing me from the side
grinding me between its teeth
with no timeout for air
with no time for relief

Hidden from the world
are my true feelings of despair
I wear a suit that bears a shield
and a cape that flops everywhere

I shed tears that run dry
I look into the darkness and ask
what do I do, for what reason
and why?

In all the suns that have ever exploded and died
all my actions would be meaningless
pursued with an empty pride

I have two angels that fill me with hope
they cage the despair and bind it with rope.
teeth that once could grind you thin
are now crushed and destroyed
leaving a pair of lips atop of an empty chin.

Their tiny voices that swirl within my ears
fill me with hope and crushes my fears.
its their hope and dreams that fill my cape with air.
And strengthens the shield that crushes the despair.
