On Making A Friendship
The shadow that we hide behind
When arranging our first date,
Is not a place, to which we should go,
Or stay behind too late.
We rest awhile in that place,
I know that it is wrong,
For honesty between good friends
Would make our friendship strong.
But, as two strangers we are at first,
And to all must not disclose,
All of our hidden depths
And secrets to our foes.
When friendship eventually comes to us,
And it will hopefully be quite soon,
Our talk, filled with truth and honesty,
Would lead to a pleasing date,
During which we could contemplate,
A full and enjoyable relationship
With mutually agreeable companionship.
