Sick and Tired
I'm sick and tired of
people being sick and tired
this country needs more exercise
definitely less 'self-help'
definitely more helping others
i don't season my life with
bitterness, thinking that
it'll taste better.
have they ever had candy?
or ice cream
or a nice warm prime rib?
(vegetarians, I am still
speaking metaphorically)
or is life a chef
hiding behind a door?
or a paper hat-wearing bitter teenager
flipping your burger
and spitting on it?
i say
it's a free country
it's the u. s. of a.
it's still the land of opportunity
the land of plenty (sometimes too much)
and the Garden of Eden
