Suffer In Silence
You say I must leave the past behind
abandon those dreams within my mind
forget all those things we'd left unsaid
circling like vultures in my head
that leave me with silence.
To blow out my torches in the night
just lay down my arms and end the fight
to pick up my heart now from the floor
remove all those chains, unlock that door
to end all this silence.
They say I should move to pastures new
remove all these thoughts I have of you
replace them with new found love instead
presume all those memories good as dead
then fill up this silence.
But what of this tender love inside
that never before felt need to hide
from critical eyes that judge my pain
should only this broken heart remain
to join you in silence.
I know that your thoughts are well inclined
you think that my destiny is blind
that all hope of love lies with your plan
I'd rather continue if I can
to suffer in silence.
