Quotes about searing, page 11

Loves Tapestry

Sometimes we feel emotions
that overwhelm our hearts
sometimes the pain is searing
tearing us apart

Sometimes if we're lucky
the joy simply overflows
As we feel our very being
whilst the loving feeling glows

Sometimes in our loneliness
when our hearts are not entwined
The world is so much darker
when we turn to look behind

Sometimes when we're older
when we think of all we've missed
All the should have been romances
and the girls we should have kissed

Drought And Potatoes

The rhythmic rise and fall of swinging hoe,
Red rising dust that coats his arms and legs
And all for spuds that without rain won't grow;
Each plant with wilted leaves to heaven begs
Here on this barren hilltop where the gaze
In all directions shows the blasted earth,
And from the sky, the scorching searing blaze
Of sun that robs the land of all its worth.

Like tombstones stand the forest giants now dead,
All strangled by the pioneer's ringing axe;
They cast no shade upon the digger's head
As from the dust, the stunted crop he sacks.
A fence is strung from one dead tree to next,
‘Tis all that says this patch of earth unique;
Around it lie the bones of death perplexed;
The logs and limbs - the past that cannot speak.

He stops to rest, his back to dead wood pressed;
A cooling drink, a humble meal of bread,

To The Kingmakers

A thousand and almost a hundred days in a quicksand
Wavering in constant dithers of your mirage
We subconsciously pulled different directions
As you bask into your floridly tousled lives
I lurked behind the curtains of our allegiance
Drinking your blood crumbling from the banquet
Of a not so subtly profound carousal:
A vortex of your meshed grandiosity
Like a stalactite building fragments of delusions
And gorging upon the sparks of your constellations
I lay there silently vying and scavenging
The sliver of your diamond's affable grating.

From where I cringed saliently breathing
The throne loomed like a statue to envision
How lofty you are against the searing skies
That parted our trifling motions and corrosion
Hence, the swaying of your golden dusts
Revealed the clouds draping the swarthy crust
And in the veneer of this decaying river

Summer Fire

Summer's Eyes shine

sublimely

penetrating deep in ocean

mine

tattoos upon my consciousness

which Summer illuminates

but she, too, burns

from giving more heat

than I can withstand

a searing of my soul

A Folk Song

I came to your town, my love,
   And you were away, away!
I said "She is with the Queen's maidens:
They tarry long at their play.
They are stringing her words like pearls
To throw to the dukes and earls."
   But O, the pity!
I had but a morn of windy red
To come to the town where you were bred,
   And you were away, away!

I came to your town, my love,
   And you were away, away!
I said, "She is with the mountain elves
And misty and fair as they.
They are spinning a diamond net
To cover her curls of jet."
   But O, the pity!
I had but a noon of searing heat
To come to your town, my love, my sweet,

Asunder

No hand could stay
the wretched turn
the taciturn display
the finger-tipped purpose,
the closed door
which she pulled aside;
sliding glass on smooth tracks
and sideways turned
she eased out
to the patio
where in the dark
her lover hid
behind the foliage bush
in the creeping night;
and I could only mute observe
how lightly deception walks
in the gloaming
where warm arms wait.

I suspend my hopes in squinted sight

Bikini

She is now in her bikini
for the past week
I've been waiting dreamy

She buys two:
one white, other black

Which one first?
my august choice
white smear knuckle spit sticky slick
models under over view

She is even asking my preference
I am overcum with honour,
sincerest gratitude
(knowing my taste in texture, colour)

It is lace; skirt extending convertible
far beyond my fantasies' measuring
inspecting delicate fit becuming

I Chop Some Parsley While Listening To Art Blakey's Version Of "Three Blind Mice"

And I start wondering how they came to be blind.
If it was congenital, they could be brothers and sister,
and I think of the poor mother
brooding over her sightless young triplets.

Or was it a common accident, all three caught
in a searing explosion, a firework perhaps?
If not,
if each came to his or her blindness separately,

how did they ever manage to find one another?
Would it not be difficult for a blind mouse
to locate even one fellow mouse with vision
let alone two other blind ones?

And how, in their tiny darkness,
could they possibly have run after a farmer's wife
or anyone else's wife for that matter?
Not to mention why.

An Arachnid

Every night, in the ubiquity of baleful shadows
I would muse on the latencies of the latticing windows
Where the svelte prisms from silver lines fashion a show
Scintillated by the frangible cradle of sorrows
Sewn by an artisan's sinewy legs of barrow

Catching with open fists is a dangling silver castle
Of my friend's glacial threads ornately tousled
Architected to assemble a suffice cradle
For the surfeit weight of the pensive hurtles
Of the prostate toil to fabricate a citadel

The superfluity and alacrity of his lissome hands
Consoles the vales of the bigoted reprimands
That I maze upon the eloquently soigné garlands
As he surly struck every searing strand
Sepulchral quiescence grazes to stand

Behind the blinds, as the preposterous night conspires
I'll lie alongside, ailed by the night's slicing wanton smiles

The three kisses

The Three Kisses ©

The kiss of hello
The kiss that is never just a kiss

The kiss that spikes vein with precision orchestra
The kiss that heals in entirety

The kiss that hides the relent of vex
The kiss that suffocates rusting man

The kiss without detail/ed system)
The kiss that pounds each pore to state of heroin

The kiss that Hiroshimates euphoria
The kiss that approximates/parallels living

The kiss only
The kiss, the kiss
