So Tired But Not Upset
some friendly metaphors
fly like tiny butterflies all yellowish
hover over my hair
i am tired and they make a show
of acrobatic letters and flowing words
like a cool stream
beside a hill
i am not upset because all i need is sleep.
and they understand
that sometimes
i may not write about them and their
unusual existences
like an aberration of light
a rarefaction
of lengths and a contortion of shapes
and they leave

A Buriel
Softly, he goes to his grave
as the big black Mercedes rolls on
and men in wigs and gowns
condemn him.
His hair, glistens, white,
in the sunlight
as they lower him in
but not one cries.
The earth spits dust
at the dark blue, moody sky
and black crows
hover, squawking.
There is no one left,
only me, with my tears dry
as salt flakes
that burn my cheeks.

Insularum Ocelle
Sark, fairer than aught in the world that the lit skies cover,
Laughs inly behind her cliffs, and the seafarers mark
As a shrine where the sunlight serves, though the blown clouds hover,
Sark.
We mourn, for love of a song that outsang the lark,
That nought so lovely beholden of Sirmio's lover
Made glad in Propontis the flight of his Pontic bark.
Here earth lies lordly, triumphal as heaven is above her,
And splendid and strange as the sea that upbears as an ark,
As a sign for the rapture of storm-spent eyes to discover,
Sark.

The Father's Day
Hail, hail, hail this day,
wave like angles
wings that close the sky,
the drifter of many
faces hover in dame of yesteryears;
a glorious recapitulation
of the first day's best dress in the
groom of today
all comes to joyous echo,
span like spam eaten
thou not consumed, a thirst of sweet
memories of a laughter fun
of the heart that sake the moment
of hello but not a goodbye
tricks and thrill surround
the circle of gummed,
like cherubim of gorgeous playing
in the sun, a Sunday of the man

In the spring garden
In the spring garden
~
In the spring garden
Birds sing and chatter
While flowers raise their heads
To greet the morning sun
A garden filled with colour bright
A garden which now fills with life
The bee and the butterfly hover
From flower to flower gathering nectar
Seeding the flowers blossom
Throughout the spring garden
The dew glistens upon the grass
While the wind gently rolls in the tree
All the world slowly waking
Soon to this bounty of great beauty
Every hue from natures pallet
Is here free for all to see
In the spring garden

It's Always Only You
For so long it's been only you
Never another could compare
I'd come to you with my broken heart
And you have always been right there
The darkest days could stretch ahead
And clouds could hover above
Your tender heart would clear the skies
And bring sunlight full of love
Your selfless love and sacrifice
Your heart that's purest gold
Grows much sweeter every day
As my battered heart you hold
The peace and joy you bring to me
Has healed my heart, that's true
My heart gives happy thanks each day
For love, it's always only you

The Day The Butterfly Kisses The Flower
motionless hyphen the warm arena of mutual
respect, that the cloth of clouds of sanctity hover
your love; seemingly the crown of fulfillment
felt the glance of harmony it glows
warm regret dance with the wind, envy to
every citation of where the golden Daffodils leave
the moment of joy reside, catches with happiness
that echoes the freshness of the wind, subdue to
begin the new start of the day
lend the dune of the every story, fulfill each
destiny to remember the glance of your smile, I
lay down my armor to sleep, until the end says
goodbye …

0207 Hover Fly
The hover fly
that's just demonstrated
that it's one of the Creation's greatest
and smallest, most compact miracles of lawful
imagination (imagine flying, then stopping
quite still in the air, no slowing down,
just, zap, like that, dead steady,
and it's smaller (!) than a helicopter, wow)
right here in front of me in silhouette, but
illuminated on one wing by the PC screen,
and pausing for a freeze-frame moment of eternity
as if to tell me something
(illumination, too?) -
all this, and yet it
doesn't know I'm writing about it.
Presumably.

Bad Karma....
Free from the usual bind
You surge as another star in that black sky
You like your wings
Feeling like a young bird
You hover on one of those
Heavenly branches
Somehow time catches up
with you
it has its own long fingers
It is squezzing your heart
For some important memories
That you have been ungrateful
In forgetting
You fall down
From such a height
Time does not kill you
You suffer
A woman watches you with so much pity

Ritual Union
The sun splits open, spilling an orange rust,
And it corrodes the distant horizon.
The settling clouds of thick ashen dust
Hover above the motionless ocean.
The warm air rises, blowing time away
With the lingering shadows of the past.
The shoreline crumbles in the gentle sway
Of erosive waves and haze overcast.
Lighting halves the sky. Then, thunder whispers
In a language of long-lost memories.
The glowing embers cool in the vespers,
In the ebbing tide of these reveries,
And light slowly fades into its stream
As if it were nothing more than a dream.
