The Night Of The Century
I didn't know you
And you didn't know me
But after we danced
It felt as if we known each other forever
When we danced
It felt like I could fly
We danced to the fast music
Which I enjoyed
My personal favorite was the slow music
When you were singing every word of the song to me
I felt your breath on my shoulder
My hands were around your shoulders
Your hands around my waist
We were close together
Spinning around and around
When it was time to go
I was crushed
I wanted to stay nad dance more
I wanted you to sing to me
I never wanted anything more than I want to be with you

A Housewife In Alexandria
A housewife in Alexandria.
The woman in Alexandria Egypt in her black chador
which mercifully hides a thin, body, lines up outside
a bakery she has walked six miles to buy bread for
the day. Her body could have fitted a Dior’s creation
snugly but as it is she has to haste home and feed
her children. She has been to the fruit market too
where rib cage showing mules with open sores wait,
their starvation have lasted so long that they are no
longer hungry but eat when fed. A rich woman, who
has never felt the pang of hunger, tells mule drivers
off for not taking care of their beasts and dispenses
salve on animals’ sores. The woman, with a model’s
body, is poor and blind to this, empathy with animals
are for the wealthy, those with time to care.

The Demiurge's Laugh
It was far in the sameness of the wood;
I was running with joy on the Demon’s trail,
Though I knew what I hunted was no true god.
It was just as the light was beginning to fail
That I suddenly heard—all I needed to hear:
It has lasted me many and many a year.
The sound was behind me instead of before,
A sleepy sound, but mocking half,
As of one who utterly couldn’t care.
The Demon arose from his wallow to laugh,
Brushing the dirt from his eye as he went;
And well I knew what the Demon meant.
I shall not forget how his laugh rang out.
I felt as a fool to have been so caught,
And checked my steps to make pretence
It was something among the leaves I sought
(Though doubtful whether he stayed to see).
Thereafter I sat me against a tree.

And The Rains Came
After a 100-day drought
Wringing the patience from everybody's pores,
The rain finally enshrouded the concrete city;
Strange hungry plants invaded odd corners,
And tales of woe became tales of defeat.
The cars & trams were uselessly
Bound in a fog that lasted sun to sun;
Peculiar denizens of the forest deep
Fell punctuating from the sky.
An epidemic of ricketts, were it not for
Vitamin D capsules, made way.
Some were not immune.
Posters of bowlegged young men
Sprung everywhere.
Dr. Armundsun invented a tea,
With the extracts of saffron, lavender
And rhinoceros' tear. That worked for a bit,
The he, too, died.

FANTASY...by talile ali
FANTASY
MUSTA BEEN ROSE COLORED GLASSES
THEY'VE LASTED LONGER THAN I CAN EVER BELIEVE
I THOUGHT YOU WERE SOMETHING SPECIAL
I GUESS IT WAS JUST MISCONCEIVED
SO MANY PEOPLE HAD IMPLIED THAT
SOMETHING WAS JUST WRONG
AND I REALLY DIDN'T LISTEN TO
'THEY SAID IT ALL IN THE SONG'
I GUESS I SHOULD'VE LISTEN CAUSE
THE WARNINGS WERE SO STRONG
CAUSE THEN IT WOULDN'T HURT SO MUCH
AND I COULD RUN ALONG
YOU REALLY DON'T CARE, DO YOU
AS LONG AS THEIR YOUNG AND FINE
WELL WHO CAN REALLY BLAME YOU
YOU'RE GOIN DOWN AT LEAST TRYIN

Fairytales
We all know fairytales are not real,
But can be very sweet.
The princesses always are the way we wish to feel,
Pretty, nice and petite.
Belle eventually got her beast,
Cinderella got her Prince Charming.
Who was left with the least,
Me who was left last and disarming.
It only lasted for a little while,
The heart ache and hurt,
But soon I bagan to smile,
Becoming more alert.
Fairytales keep hopes in tact,
And keep you thinking.
They keep distnace between fiction and fact,
Keep our world and theirs....linking!
Wishing to be in their stories,
Having fun as well as dreams.
Sharing their glories,
Always winning them, it seems.

Love Online
We fell in love online
Even though we had never heard each others voice
Or saw each others face
Was there love online we could almost taste
For the words you spoke the words you wrote to me
I imagined you here saying them to me
We had a love affair online
All though it only lasted a short time
But now its over an your gone
I wish it could of gone on and on
Deep down i knew it was never real
But we took away the lonliness
That was real that we both could feel
We spoke of lost love and sorrow
Of love we thought we had in the past
But it was just something that we borrowed
As we help each other through
Something we thought we never knew
I often search for you online
Remembering of that special time

How You Left Your Willowy Dress
The monsoon swooned
with a glacial riddance
and I abide the tempest
because in the sifting
I am more alive
than the vertical quietude
of this unrivaled squall
inside the moon's belly
Before she departs
and leave cobwebs
in the silence of the firmament
she whispered a symphonic
lamented augury
and left her willowy dress
sprawled on the shore
of my sleep's phantasms
A saline surrender
lulled a chagrin bell

the Irish Wedding Knot
-THE IRISH WEDDING KNOT-
Have you ever seen a Wedding Knot
Carved from one piece of wood,
Given to an Irish Bride
Before the alter where they stood.
The one I have is walnut
Made by a loving hand.
It was passed down to my father
Just as his mother planned.
A marriage of a lifetime
Carved into that little knot.
A tiny little wooden cage...
Wooden ball within the slot.
That wooden ball just stays there
sliding 'round inside that cage,
Never will it be removed...
