Quotes about lasted, page 20
A Tale Died
A tale was found and quartered for the dust
Died afterwards like the fountains receding;
It was a history of sorrow, time might complete
And times may change according to desire.
The tales talked of their dead and gone,
Of good opinion and affection that lasted.
To offend the caves was to offend the angry men
In them, without frustrating their souls
Of eyes that battered and battled for more memory
In the name of mankind,
In the hobbies of the world that chanced difficulties.
More in angers was nagging, they grew worse in years
As those felons attracted a huge fitness,
These men of kings decided to sneak about
With a gallows air, perpetually in sin
And nagging with the bending of bars.
The stories one sees of idle personages

Ninetieth Birthday
You go up the long track
That will take a car, but is best walked
On slow foot, noting the lichen
That writes history on the page
Of the grey rock. Trees are about you
At first, but yield to the green bracken,
The nightjars house: you can hear it spin
On warm evenings; it is still now
In the noonday heat, only the lesser
Voices sound, blue-fly and gnat
And the stream's whisper. As the road climbs,
You will pause for breath and the far sea's
Signal will flash, till you turn again
To the steep track, buttressed with cloud.
And there at the top that old woman,
Born almost a century back
In that stone farm, awaits your coming;
Waits for the news of the lost village
She thinks she knows, a place that exists

Apple-Pie
Rhinoceros, buffalo, aaligator, fox and leopard! !
Of the rain on my side to wait for you;
But, the snake came along with the words of war.
Lion, tiger, elephant, crocodile and the rabbit!
Of this rivder to cross in the land of my muse;
But, the eagle came along with the words of joy.
Drinking 'Palm-wine' and 'Pito' on this journey,
And like a philosophical colloquy that lasted into the wee hours!
But, the story of the weathger was also part of it.
Suddnely! ! A snake hurried across!
And darkness fell unto us all;
But this apple-pie and the creamed cake gave us hope,
And like the rice and chicken with pawpaw that we ate last night.
Enter into the world so sweet! !
And like the bibulous man next door;
Just like the state of my mind on thisd long journey.

A simple smile
Everytime you look at me you see nothing but a simple smile
My smile hides all the pain i feel deep inside
My smile is a simple cover up to show people its going to be alright
But when there nobody is around me that smile turns into a frown and my pain comes out
With each day that passes that smile you see changed into so much pain and suffering behind a chamber
As i fall farther into this dark cold world of depression all you see is my simple smile
As i pretend that everything is normal with that simple smile that hides pain so very will

Remember?
Sitting here for days,
Pen in my hand,
Where Oh where do I even begin?
Got you on my mind,
That's nothing new,
I'm stuck in a rut,
Please sun..shine down on me,
Let my true feeling spill out on the lonely blank piece of paper,
Writing your name across my wrist,
Seeing my veins appear,
So blue just like the ink above,
Baby remember all those times we've spent together,
Staying up so late just to talk to one another,
Phone calls lasting until 3am,
Remember all of our hugs, kisses, smiles, and laughter,
And even the hard times,
All the tears I've shed,
But you always seemed to be there,
Picking me back up,
Wiping my tears away each step forward,

Out Of The Sighs
Out of the sighs a little comes,
But not of grief, for I have knocked down that
Before the agony; the spirit grows,
Forgets, and cries;
A little comes, is tasted and found good;
All could not disappoint;
There must, be praised, some certainty,
If not of loving well, then not,
And that is true after perpetual defeat.
After such fighting as the weakest know,
There's more than dying;
Lose the great pains or stuff the wound,
He'll ache too long
Through no regret of leaving woman waiting
For her soldier stained with spilt words
That spill such acrid blood.
Were that enough, enough to ease the pain,
Feeling regret when this is wasted

Pacing off the steps
At times the stretch
to the jumping board
and landing patch
lay magical
in front of me
and without real strain
I glided through the air
and a slit second
almost lasted for an eternity.
In that moment
the interaction of no competitor,
no coach,
no cheering onlooker
was with me
and the white
sand glided past
before kissing
my landing feet.

Moments like knife cuts
They’re too silly to be serious,
too serious to be silly…
those moments when your raw
adolescent ego (and how long it lasted…)
is hurt to the quick…
how you’d like to forget it,
it’s so trivial… but you can’t;
so then, you’d like to laugh at it;
maybe make a jokey verse about it…
but that doesn’t work, either…
and, as if it mattered…
when I was forever desperate
for the approval of any stranger,
let alone a friend,
someone brought along to meet us
such a stranger whom we all admired,
all wished to be…

On The Edge
The polar bear has lasted well,
Outliving those we've lost...
Some species merely stay a spell
And then they pay the cost...
Extinction takes its toll each year
And sometimes Man's to blame
And there's no doubt, it's crystal clear...
Let's bow our heads in shame...
Adopt a polar bear, some say...
Conserve what still remains...
We can postpone that final day,
If we just use our brains!
Resources come, resources go...
That's just the way it is.
We need to make their numbers grow...
Before things go amiss...
Their future's truly in our hands
And in our wallets, too.
How wise is he who understands
And does what he must do.

Time Stands Still For The Likes Of Me
Time stands still for the likes of me
Other than this moment, time does not exist
There is no past or future beyond this moment
Just this moment in time exists, and nothing more
The passage of time has no effect on me, ill or otherwise
I do no feel it's passing
It's comings and goings are lost on me
I am stuck - lost - in a timeless era
I do not seem to age, neither physically nor mentally
They say it is only 'natural' for my body to look and feel 'young'
It is merely my age that makes me feel this way
That it is only my youthfulness
But why, then, does my mind not age?
I have felt no progression on my part since grade school
I feel as though the past ten years did not exist
Middle school and high school are a blur to me
