Praise the Lord, God's Glories Show

Praise the Lord, God’s glories show, Alleluia!
Saints within God’s courts below, Alleluia!
Angels round the throne above, Alleluia!
All that see and share God’s love, Alleluia!

Earth to heaven and heaven to earth, Alleluia!
Tell the wonders, sing God’s worth, Alleluia!
Age to age and shore to shore, Alleluia!
Praise God, praise forevermore! Alleluia!

Praise the Lord, great mercies trace, Alleluia!
Praise His providence and grace, Alleluia!
All that God for us has done, Alleluia!
All God sends us through the Son. Alleluia!

Strings and voices, hands and hearts, Alleluia!
In the concert bear your parts, Alleluia!
All that breathe, your Lord adore, Alleluia!
Praise Him, praise Him evermore!

The three day Rock concert

Pitch your tent in the rain
put money and phone in pockets
hope no thieves around
remember the last time?
Make way to the beer tent
then have a good walk about
your favourite band will be on soon.
Try and get down to the front
but you end up crushed in the middle
by now your covered in mud.
Still you don't care because
you've had a good drink
and the music is loud and great.
Everyone is jumping and moving
to the heavy metal thump thump
your having a fantastic time.
You do this for three days
then you pack up your tent
your worn out and tired
but you'll be back next year.

This May Be Painful For You To Hear

I know this may be painful for you to hear.
But there are very few people,
With wishes and desires to comprehend your needs.

You may not believe that.
But at least take it into consideration,
Others you observe and see...
Can be counted on as not having you even as a thought,
In their minds at all.

And if you choose to put this to a test...
Go to any shopping mall, grocery store
Or sit among others in a concert!
Witness the atmosphere.
See who is digesting it.

They are there to receive what they came to get.
Do it and then to leave.
And some may or may not...
Glance at the receipt.

They All Give The Light

Once upon a time
at a very far away
folk music concert

two American
folk singers claimed
and proclaimed

a revelation
concerning the lights
givers of light

One singer said
“Do you see the lights”
“This one is Christianity”

“That one is Islam”
“That one is Hinduism”
“That one is Buddhism”

Bath

A man saw the whole world as a grinning skull and cross-bones. The rose flesh of life shriveled from all faces. Nothing counts. Everything is a fake. Dust to dust and ashes to ashes and then an old darkness and a useless silence. So he saw it all. Then he went to a Mischa Elman concert. Two hours waves of sound beat on his eardrums. Music washed something or other inside him. Music broke down and rebuilt something or other in his head and heart. He joined in five encores for the young Russian Jew with the fiddle. When he got outside his heels hit the sidewalk a new way. He was the same man in the same world as before. Only there was a singing fire and a climb of roses everlastingly over the world he looked on.

True Story

they found him walking along the freeway
all red in
front
he had taken a rusty tin can
and cut off his sexual
machinery
as if to say --
see what you've done to
me? you might as well have the
rest.

and he put part of him
in one pocket and
part of him in
another
and that's how they found him,
walking
along.

they gave him over to the

Western Dusk

A faun-cry romps through sparks,

In the parks cascades of light foam,

Metallic vapors around steel arcades

Of the city which rolls around the sun.

A god races shimmering in a harness of tigers

Past women and bright bazaars,

Filled with flowing gold and wares.

And slave people howl now and then.

In the canal a drunken ship rotates

Sluggishly in green solar sheaves.

Sweet And Sweet And Sweet

Sweet and Sweet and Sweet
Date: June 28,2012

Ah, sweet, and sweet and sweet
Lemon ice on a hot day
Melting, cool on the tongue
A slide into quicksand
Sinking, sinking, in weightless frenzy
Just sweet, and sweet and sweet
Silver-blue lightning strikes
Limbs climb skyward, rain quenched
I praise to Eros
A flash of light, the smell of flame
So sweet, and sweet and sweet
A sigh caught and caged
The current swells and falls
Swells and falls…in concert
Rushing toward the shore
It's sweet, and sweet and sweet
Sticky, warm and welcome

God Blessed The Broken Road

As though a thousand disparate winds
Blew me in in as many different directions,
Or hundreds of disjointed connections
Were made, in a maze that never ends-
I have meandered more than a bedouin
In search of water in a vast, unforgiving desert;
Enigmatically, all forces now appear in concert-
A scenario that none could portend.
Perhaps He Planned each break along the way-
Perhaps what seemed chaotic, was His Plan, Divine;
By manner of preparation, the task was mine
To thoughtfully heed what He chose to say:
'That which gladdens thine heart, do not wait to do.'
God Blessed the broken road, that led me straight to you!

*Inspired by the song 'God Blessed The Broken Road', by Rascal Flatts

The Wet Lyre

Acoustics naturally set, the breeze drones on.
The wind gatheres the clouds upon
To check the thunder's pitch in tune.
The performance to be applauded high in tone.
Wind hissing to winnowing to blowing
The concert starts storming andthundering
With lightening effects the open auditorium darkening
To get drenched in heavenly drizzling.
The wind flags on and on and
The hydraulic drops get stringed
To pour into thick strands from up.
The wet lyre is fully tuned up
To sing and dance, God as the conductor,
Synchronising with wind, thunder
And ablazed lightning, stamina in full swing.
Though wet with variable pitch ongoing
Bliss the rainy lyre is so poetical
The finale makes the audience silent a while
But cheers is 'Come again another day'.
