The Bright Future of South Sudan
The bright future of south Sudan
South Sudan sons and daughters, wonderful and dear;
Together in life, together in death, together in liberty,
And prosperity; at last they’re free forever,
Swifter than Eagle, stronger than Lions.
Arise! South Sudan and shine like the sun;
The grace and glory of the God is shine on you,
The righteousness and brightness of his presence will be with you.
Day and Night your gates will be open,
So that your scattered sons and daughters will come back homes;
The land of the milk and honey.
You will tremble with jubilation and excitement of
Your independence days, months, years to come and go!
South Sudan sons and daughters, wonderful and dear;
Together in suffering, together in dying and,
Together in destitution, that has lasted;
Together in theirs own Land rather than in exile,
In theirs own Land, at last they’re free forever.
Increasing and countless than sand of sea and pacify,
Rather than decreasing, wars and conflicts.

Pondering Pirates
PONDERING PIRATES
Edward Iacona
There has remained a fascination
That has lasted through the years,
Of pirates, ships and the treasures
Of those adventurous buccaneers.
It is very obvious in these times
That pirates are still quite popular
In films and books and games and such
But not the real ones in Somalia.
We also pay them homage
With 'Talk Like a Pirate Day'
So salt yer speech me hearties
And add 'Arrgh' to what you say.
There are pirate costumes for Halloween

Virtue and Vice
SHE was so good, and he was so bad
A very pretty time they had!
A pretty time, and it lasted long:
Which of the two was more in the wrong?
He befouled in the slough of sin;
Or she whose piety pushed him in?
He found her yet more cold and staid
As wedded wife than courted maid:
She filled their home with freezing gloom;
He felt it dismal as a tomb:
Her steadfast mind disdained his toys
Of worldly pleasures, carnal joys;
Her heart firm-set on things above
Was frigid to his earthly love.
So he came staggering home at night;
Where she sat chilling, chaste, and white:
She smiled a scornful virtuous smile,
He flung good books with curses vile.
Fresh with the early morn she rose,

A Love With No Regret
I look at the exit door and i see her,
With the mirage of her shadows from afar.
I look at the past and i see her smile,
A smile that lasted for a while.
She was once my heaven grace,
Now leaving with no trace.
She was my last solution,
But now irritate like pollution.
She once brought happiness,
Now that happiness is lost in this time of darkness.
I thought she was sent from heaven,
Made with all the beauties of heaven.
But i was so wrong of her,
Cos she was never αs amazing like the stars.
I once thought we would have a great future,
Each time i stare at her picture.
I once thought that she could be a great wife,
And that together we would have a wonderful life.
I once gave her my heart,
When we began from the start.

I'm Sorry
Mum I'm sorry for all of the tough times I put you through
There are many things that I did to you that I shouldn't have
But I think it's about time that I say I LOVE YOU
Mum this is coming from the heart
And that's the only way to start
Since I was a little girl
My whole life went into a whirl
I'm sorry for all of the lies
And for all the times I made you cry
I'm sorry for all of the fights I started with you
Mum just remember I LOVE YOU
All of the things that I have been going through
Makes me realize what you say is true

You Are Old Father William
"You are old, father William," the young man said,
"And your hair has become very white;
And yet you incessantly stand on your head --
Do you think, at your age, it is right?
"In my youth," father William replied to his son,
"I feared it might injure the brain;
But, now that I'm perfectly sure I have none,
Why, I do it again and again."
"You are old," said the youth, "as I mentioned before,
And you have grown most uncommonly fat;
Yet you turned a back-somersault in at the door --
Pray what is the reason for that?"
"In my youth," said the sage, as he shook his grey locks,
"I kept all my limbs very supple
By the use of this ointment -- one shilling a box --
Allow me to sell you a couple?"

Two suns
Earth has long had its faithful sun emitting rays
But what if we were to look out in the clear sky
And see two suns instead of one on a bright day?
What if this new sun will glamorize the human eye?
What if this sun will make night a thing of the past
'Cause the Betelgeuse star system will change very soon?
This star has lost its fuel and it can't outlast
Exploding in a conflagration like a balloon.
The light from Betelgeuse will reach the underworld
There will simply be no night for a long period.
God will be alone for creating His new world.
Like in ' Theogony' written by great Hesiod.
In the middle ages people really thought

The Hatred, The Menace, And The Curse
It is perhaps my most vexatious quandary:
That I am able to reckon with what circumstance stole
At the expense of hatred toward a single, albeit, entirely deserving soul!
She is the only reason I have what most may call 'dirty laundry'-
The near-destruction of a once-purposeful life, accomplished
Through the employ of a living, breathing lie,
That does not seem to want to be finished,
Kept alive by the stupidity of the masses-but why? !
In the face of all the evidence to the contrary,
Many still believe the fallacy; their collective gullibility is quite scary!
With every whisper, or thoughtless shout that states the same,
I am forced to reckon with the phantom menace
Who stole so much, yet gifted only his surname.
The memory I once had of my boyhood, I imagine is
Lost now, as is the heroic figure I once believed he was-
Gone the way of my erstwhile innocence, because
The truth was finally allowed to amble in my direction,
Shuttered all those years, under guise of my own protection.

The Slave Dealer
From ocean's wave a Wanderer came,
With visage tanned and dun:
His Mother, when he told his name,
Scarce knew her long-lost son;
So altered was his face and frame
By the ill course he had run.
There was hot fever in his blood,
And dark thoughts in his brain;
And oh! to turn his heart to good
That Mother strove in vain,
For fierce and fearful was his mood,
Racked by remorse and pain.
And if, at times, a gleam more mild
Would o'er his features stray,
When knelt the Widow near her Child,
And he tried with her to pray,
It lasted not for visions wild
Still scared good thoughts away.

City People Blues
It was one wild ride
A matter of fact
A hell of a party
To be exact.
Lots of kickass people
Each had a guitar
Outplaying each other
You know how they are.
And some hot shot singers
By ones and by twos
Belting out bodacious
City people blues.
And nobody asked me
Where did I work.
Nobody tried to make me
Feel like a jerk
Because I was wearing
The same dirty jeans.
I was just part of the party
