When Beggars Keep Begging For Smog
As things get old,
We recognize them then...
As old.
With sentimental...
Memories.
To remember...
The whens, the whys and those hows.
As things get old,
We recognize them then...
As old.
With sentimental...
Memories.
To remember...
The whens, the whys and those hows.
Less freshness comes back,
When it's known what's inside the box...
With interest in it fading.

In A Request To Be Left Alone
In a request to be left alone,
Is often demanded by one who contradicts.
I have made similar comments myself.
To only annoy someone,
By calling them too much...
Until they pretended not to be home.
As a child I would say, 'Leave me alone.'
Not expecting anyone to believe me.
Or have my wish condoned.
And when I am successfully left alone,
I began to feel quite lonely.
Not expecting a loneliness to be so overwhelming.
To request to be left alone,
Is often demanded by one who contradicts.
I have made similar comments myself.
To only annoy someone,
By calling them too much...
Until they pretended not to be home.

The Poet As Politician
every hour the poets knock the door of my senses
if you have time my dear
please read my latest poem
i have read yours and they're good
(what does he care? he has his own cares to care for)
and they keep on knocking
and i keep on lying too with my grin as wide as the cheetah
your poems are great
just perfect for me.. oh i love this one too
how hungry can a poet be as a politician
hungry for praise
lusting for honor
wanting to have a name where there are none
except perhaps in tombstones
yes i will compromise with an epitaph

To Reciprocate...Without the Need of Words
Sometimes I fail to respond,
To a request that has been made.
Often in my humility,
I'm left with nothing to say.
Or wish within myself,
I could communicate...
Without words to select from.
Or create a debate,
I did not intend.
And then I don't want to offend.
Anyone who is sensitive,
And may not comprehend...
What it is I am feeling then.
Sometimes I fail to respond,
To a request that has been made.
Often in my humility,
I'm left with nothing to say.

A Need To Be Rejected
I have yet to meet anyone,
Who had a need to be rejected.
I have yet to hear with my ears,
From anyone's lips...
A request from them begging for it.
And yet there are those who reject others,
As if to smother them with neglect.
With a doing of it,
To express no regret or appear to be apologetic.
There are exceptions to the rule of this,
When inflicted and applied...
To those who do this and deny.
They will exlaim when the tables are turned on them,
A wholesomeness within them sits.
And all they do is give of themselves to others.
But the others have druthers to choose the opposite.
With rejection on top of their priority list.

I Don't Do Demands
I don't do demands!
I 'may' take a request,
Every now and then.
Very cautiously.
At one time...
I would dropp whatever I was doing,
To be at someone's beck-and-call.
I had to put an end to that.
Some folks began making suggestions,
As to how I could do for them...
A better job!
YES.
'Maybe you should do it this way.
So and so said...'
I don't do demands!
I 'may' take a request,

He Doesn't Want To Be Nagged For Petty Things!
The prayer of bringing up to the clouds,
The invention of airplanes by the wrights,
The plea of knowing the welfare of kiths and kins,
The holding of tablet in both hands to see and appease,
The request of having high abode, good salary and fine clothes,
Granted in excess to strive for better and then sloth,
The desire to have good food, drink and health care,
Available in abundant in various branded fair,
The super powers of the world blessed the selected,
To have all these comforts for not to be nagged,
But taken away the peace from them for them to go back,
To kneel and cry for the peace they have lost in Hammocks,
That tied between two trees of lust and greed,
Up from the ground, in the middle of the air,
With the foundation of flimsy materialistic desires.
Now peace is the only request, plea and the dream,
With which Gods of Heaven may be comfortable with,
Not to be disturbed with multiple confusing begs and beseeches.

Too Comfortable A Passenger
You have come much too late,
To request from me to give to you...
What at one time,
Was thrown back in my face.
It is not that I am embittered.
Those days feeling that way,
From me have gone.
And like the passing of each season,
I'm not the one to linger with wishes,
That any season I might like...
Continues to go on.
That would be too selfish of me,
To believe something will wait...
Until I decided it was time to celebrate,
In the appreciation of it.
You have come much too late,
To request from me to give to you...

The Request
The sun that you stole
Was mine.
The house that you threw into darkness,
Was mine.
The sunshine that smiles in your home, is mine.
My life is bleak without it,
The odor of my grief is heavy on it,
It was mine yesterday and is mine today.
It is I, bereft of light, who am its father.
It is my fire that is embedded in its limbs.
The smell of my sun is in it,
The sun that was stolen from me in broad daylight.
But you cannot be blamed for this theft.
The sun has been stolen in every era.
An afternoon has always died,
Weeping for the sun.

A Reason To Condescend
Not often,
But there has been times...
When one can not help but find,
A reason to condescend.
A pulling done of rank,
Or a sarcasm spoken...
To one who shows not a bit of thanks.
With not a hint of appreciation expressed,
For a suggestion or advice given...
At one's request.
But...
Chastised,
In a way that a disrespect is not merited.
Not often,
But there has been times...
When one can not help but find,
A reason to condescend.
