Quotes about alleys, page 4
Delectatio Morosa
on that bed
of evil thoughts
my morning
starts
i grow
and bloom
on such
a delectable
delicacy
butchered on
such a holiday
the gladiator's
oozing blood
flows on the
alleys
of my mind

The social sciences were for all those who had not yet decided what to do with their lives, and for all those whose premature frustrations led them into the sterile alleys of confrontation.

Interim
The earth is motionless
And poised in space…
A great bird resting in its flight
Between the alleys of the stars.
It is the wind’s hour off….
The wind has nestled down among the corn….
The two speak privately together,
Awaiting the whirr of wings.

These people live again in print as intensely as when their images were captured on old dry plates of sixty years ago... I am walking in their alleys, standing in their rooms and sheds and workshops, looking in and out of their windows. Any they in turn seem to be aware of me.

A Pandora's Box
when a Pandora's box it opened
out many wild animals
Satan and all the terrible properties
roam the free world
raven
people who have no faith
walk alone
in the dark alleys and muddy
black water flowing
in the grooves of life
that emerged from the grudge
past long-buried
now rising again
revenge

Eye Trouble
Close by flashes
fill the night
of my peripheral vision
what's nearly there
just above my shoulder
over my straining brow
I can see in a blink
the paparazzi
ducking into dark alleys
patiently waiting for me to emerge
smiling into innocent lamplight
to trap me, like Princess Di
with their flash

In My Breast
Weeping at dusk,
The heart only knows oppression,
Desire lingers like a disease untreated.
I’ve been loved
And hurt the one
Who bestowed such love.
The law of karma
Finds me defenseless
In emotional back alleys
And besieges me mercilessly.
In my breast
Is longing unfulfilled
Like a sea never quenched
With ceaseless tears.

Night Walk
a full moon
overlooks streets
and alleys
its cold, quiet
footsteps echo
and yet not
street lights comfort
wind rolls along
against my face
almost numb
windows are lit
through curtains
people sat warm
here I walk
thoughts as company
in the dark of night
my nerves on edge
waiting, waiting
then nothing
I walk

Blizzard
Snow falls:
years of anger following
hours that float idly down --
the blizzard
drifts its weight
deeper and deeper for three days
or sixty years, eh? Then
the sun! a clutter of
yellow and blue flakes --
Hairy looking trees stand out
in long alleys
over a wild solitude.
The man turns and there --
his solitary track stretched out
upon the world.
