Nearer To Us
Run and run towards deliverance
And find and gather everything
Deliverance and riches
Run so quickly the thread breaks
With the sound a great bird makes
A flag always soared beyond

I Gave The Flag To The Widow Of A Young Soldier
I gave the flag
To the widow of a young soldier
Who had died in the
Vietnan
War
Because I wanted to honour this young soldier's life
And also for the sacrifices that he made

Waving the flag at the 1976 Olympics wasn't my idea. It was too much apple pie and ice cream. Not that I don't love my country, but I felt it was my victory up there, I put all the time into it.

I expect the Republicans will enjoy a large bounce out of their convention. They're here wrapping themselves in the 9/11 flag, which I think is inappropriate in many ways, but it's their choice.

I feel there should have been some recognition of the Spice Girls at this year's 25th anniversary. We flew the flag for Britain around the globe in the 1990s and we achieved a hell of a lot.

To my Mother
Mother, to whose valiant will
Battling long ago,
What the heaping years fulfil,
Light and song, I owe;
Send my little book afield,
Fronting praise or blame
With the shining flag and shield
Of your name.

Beads Of Love
Greed, deed, meek, and the feed of love!
Bid for my love and come to me,
For i am wearing my beads of love waiting for you alone;
And like the red flag hanging up high in the land of roses.
