Of cities set far off on hills down vista'd valleys,
And floods so vast and old, men wist not whence they sprang,

Of groves, and forest depths, and fountains softly welling,
And roads that ran soft-shadowed past the open doors,
Of mighty palaces and many a lofty dwelling,
Where all men entered and no master trod their floors.

Greed counts currency
While sheer Poverty cries,
With mocking mirth and glee
And a twinkling of the eye.

Greed counts currency
While a Nation slowly dies
Calloused Shame is empty
As Fear closed Freedom's eyes.

As in Anger a people cry
The Lust for Power may see
Them give Revolution a try.

You will be beset by ire
when you rent your mind to greed.
Pride will push you into mire
so to wise counsels pay heed.

Cremate your envy on pyre
and be honest in your deeds.

Anger, Pride, Deceit and Greed
Are the four flaws you denounce,
Said the saint Mahaveer,600 B.C.
Anger spurts when pride is at stake.
Pride reacts when deceit steps in.
Deceit lurks as greed sets in.

Greed is born of insecurity.
Faith in you can remove it.
Faith in God also removes it.
You can live serene, rich or poor.

Greed And Money

I believe that wanting money is needed.
I do not believe that wanting money is greed,
What I believe is greed; is the overwhelming need
of having more money, then needed.
It takes money to remain in existence.
Listen wanting money is not greed.

And theirs no danger
In giving money to a hungry stranger.
This is the danger: exceeding you needs
And letting the fellow that pleads go hungry.
So next time you see a beggar pleading don’t yonder,
And don’t let him wait any longer
