Oktober Fest

Alternative II
Alternative, native, altar, alter, at, in, an, tin, tan, net, ten, heat, tea, eat;
Feel my love and feel the difference,
And like a colourful bird in the land of your muse.
Alternative, riven, rivet, tale, later, late, veer, veil, era, ear, are, ant, sate;
Feel my muse and feel my mind,
And like a singing bird in the land of your muse.
Alternative, tree, rate, van, vet, vain, vat, tail, tie, tear, rat, tar, naive, it;
And to satisfy the desire of your love in the land of your muse!
But i am all that you need on this side of the river.

Bored with TV
Bennie bought a baby crocodile
and took it home in a carrier bag.
He let it roam about the house,
but the crocodile made him sad.
When they watched T.V. together
tears fell from the crocodile’s eyes.
He thought his friend was unhappy
and this made poor Bennie cry.
He carried it to the vet’s clinic
and told them about his fears.
They told him that it was natural
for crocodiles to shed tears.
Feeling relieved and much happier
they sat to watch T.V. again.
The crocodile went to the bathroom
and flushed himself down the drain.

America
-for pilgrim sake,
and land once, of 'Native' soil
Allegiance pledged, of
conquest gained, from
Earth's borne spirits' bold.
America, Proud America
Our Earth, need not be harmed
when war tales are often told
and blood stained flags, unfold
America, we Love thee
of gifted Earth bequeathed
ne'er we forget, Democracy,
and all those enslaved, be free
America America

My Lory bird
I had a baby grey Lory
that the dogs tried to catch
and treated it as a pet.
As the bird
grew and became tame,
I started to love it
and it also loved me.
When it heard me come near
or saw me
it called joyously and its crest
went up and down,
It was my desire to give the Lory freedom
when it was properly raised
and I wondered if it would be able
to exist on its own.
One day my bird was ill

NEFERKITTI (For Cat Lovers)
Arrived rear door, sad yowling cat
Forlorn, hungry, on her we took pity
To Vet for spay ‘n buying this ‘n that
She settled in, named her “Neferkitti”
'Twas destined, she become temple cat
Our coal black friend with 4-socks of white
She brought temple offerings of mice ‘n rats
We protested, did scold, “That’s not polite”
She greets guests, sits upon their laps
Her soft purring offers gentle healing
She teaches the value of “Cat naps”
And expressing what you’re feeling
Someday stray kitten may find you
Accept the blessing, let love imbue

Big City Bop
Welcome to New York City
City that never sleeps,
Bean counters everywhere,
All play for keeps,
Skinny women, high heel shoes,
Trottin' to the the top,
High steppin' broken glass,
Doin' the Big City Bop.
Sunny San Francisco,
See vet with one leg,
Exercising freedom of speech,
Exercising freedom to beg,
Shoutin' to the chic
Good luck reaching the top,
Sea of debris, bold and meek,
Doin' the Big City Bop.
Welcome to Dallas,
Pick-ups whizzin' by

Remember
Life was good and thoughts were better
Little rascals and captain kangaroo were my heroes
Now I cough and try to live again
The wild emotions of the past.
My mate was colorful toy
When I was young.
Just another love song
To be sung.
Love and life intervened with thought
Thought left me lonely and sad.
Life made me question the ways
To live in your world
With my flag unfurled.
Never forget the dream of a vet

a Distressful day finds me
a Distressful day finds me
and at work
the air conditioner is on
and I am catching flue
from a colleague.
At a robot a oversized trailer
hits me against the leg,
while the truck thug
turns with purpose wider than his lane
and drives away into intractability.
At the front gate
the motorbike’s gear leaver
comes loose
and I can find no gear.
Kyla belches and I hear
that my darling is away with her
to make a end

Even The Stars Cannot Weep!
the Vietnam vet,
his plant shut down,
too old and crippled to hire.
draws just enough
to pay half the rent,
sleeps with one eye open.
tossed by napalm dreams,
and Nixon's lies...
bourbon, god, and country...
his heart skips a beat,
his penis flees to Canada,
waiting for burial and bugles!
the heroin ghost
on the paint peeled steps,
watching the shuckers and the jivers.
old woman gone,
cancer struck...
ashes on the mantle.
a broke down chevrolet,
