Quotes about vet., page 6

Valentina

Valentina, tin, tan, van, live, ale, vat, neat, Venn, Tina, Lena, eat!
And like the words of your sweet love,
But enter into the world so sweet with your lovely muse to teach me;
For, you are all that the muse of love brought to me this morning.

Valentina, vial, tail, vine, veil, tine, line, vale, tale, vent, nine, lava;
And like surfing the web!
But you can still keep in touch with your friends.

Valentina, lent, lean, let, tea, ate, Inn, net, ten, vet, ant, vile, Nina;
And like face-to-face conversation,
But do not let yourself to be conquered by evil.

The force of love and peace,
Read out those words that i penned to you and tell me your mind;
For you are rich in imagery and style! !
And i am impressed with the great skills of your muse.

Eventually We Will All Die, Feb 28th,2011

And the older you get, the closer you get to your eventual death,
And it can’t be avoided until you take your very last breath,
But don’t think about it and maybe it will just go away,
Unfortunately that’s not true either but you still can’t overstay.

Your dog can get euthanasia at the vet’s and no questions asked,
He can lie down and peacefully die and no one is aghast,
But you can’t have assisted suicide or your doctor goes to jail,
They take this so serious; they might not even give him bail.

You don’t read about this because it’s kept out of the press
Just like binding national referendums but did I digress?
You are not worthy of euthanasia but you don’t know
As far as they are concerned, you are just a no-body, John Doe.

Old Tara

My cat Tara
Was sharp swift and full of fun;
A gift from high
In the garden a smoking gun
Ever alert to predators.
Velvet paws in the house
The loveliest cat ever
To grace the family home.

Tara didn't like sudden bangs,
Guy Fawkes shenanigans
She would ban.
She would come to my side
Tail up: purr purr
Trying to tell me her cat news,
A true and faithful friend.

The years rolled on
Her eyes grew dim.
No more quick movements to her stride.

A Christmas Tale

Meat is Meat (a christmas tale)

Santa came running up the road his coat was open
exposing a hairy belly, arms full of parcels, asked
me if I was a vet, because Rudolf had broken its leg.
Told him I was a destroyer of Christmas, took delight
telling children that Santa was their own uncle Ted)
every child got an uncle Ted) but was willing this once
to help him out. I called a Lapland friend, who has
a herd of reindeer lives in a tent and is dressed for
year long winters, he gave us a reindeer for free as
he too was a sentimental fool and had eight children.
Problem solved, but what about Rudolf? We sent him
to an abattoir where he was humanly slaughtered,
(humanly, means he was shot through its head when
eating carrots) as a reindeer is too cute to eat its flesh
was sold as veal, which is meat of doe eyed calves.

A loving dog is a strange thing

A loving dog is a strange thing,
an animal that is willing to protect,
to give its own life if the need arises,
a self-aware living being
that understands in a peculiar way
that has the ability to ask if need be
for what it deems necessary

with the ability to love in spite of self,
to obey even until death,
to play and be merry,
to rejoice at the arrival
of its human companion
and to understand
beyond what one expects from animals.

Today again the angel of death passed me
but her fangs were striking
into my beloved dog,
which she touched deadly

Shame And Silence

I've seen that man before.
Yeah the one with the back pack walking down the road.
He's a homeless vet.
Not sure the reason.
Was it his choice.
Or was it circumstances created by the governments choices.
I don't know but I see him every year.
Each time he has greyed
Just a little more.
Each time he walk is slower
Just a little more.
Does he have any family left?
And if so why aren't they helping him?
What has happen to make all these people so cold?
They cross the street just to avoid.
As if he is a disease, a contagious cancer.
Well if that is so we are the ones that caused it.
A reflection of what we've become.
A reflection of what we have done.
A faulty since of arrogance, ignorance, and disgust.

A Prima Donna

Madame La Pompadour cannot come to work,
the world is spinning out of control, her dog
needs medical attention, her car cannot start in
the morning, her dog needs another vet, now
Madame Pompadour's newly built office is
empty - it was given as a compelling condition
for her return to work, yet it seems something
is lacking still, can we guess what it is

Maybe a chauffeur to drive her to work every
morning, a special kennel next to her office so
she can bring her dogs to be with her all day,
maybe a built-in a humidifier so she can breathe
freely without germs, maybe a Jacuzzi so she can
get rid of the tension right here at work, maybe
her own cook and kitchenette so she can order
the right meals with the same aplomb as

A Lady Gaga, surely Madame La Pompadour has
already dethroned both Madonna and Lady Gaga

The Patters of a Physical Director

My most jovial friend
was a Physical Director.
He would always speak about
national institutes of sports.
But he hadn't sneaked in there
just to glance at the coaching
of indoor or outdoor games.
When he was pulled to the ground
to play Volley Ball, he'd box it
and puncture it with his thumbnail.

His interest to vet
the letters freighted
between the boys and girls
was enormous.
Boundless verve he had
to trace out the authors
of the anonymous letters.
His counsels and guidance
to the love-infested teenagers

A Concerning Queen

Upon this world…From heaven she came…
As a pearl…
Lightening the hearts…
Of mankind…like a messenger…
In the medical field…
From within…Souls…
She heal…
Her inner appeal is so real…
She has that God…seal…
Not all (Doctors) carry such care…
They treat only the person who is there…

Her kindness, gut feeling and understanding…
Has brought many troops…from a circle loop…
By giving of herself….
She has shown (my kind) …

How to leave (Vietnam) …behind…
She listens…really listens…to the vet
And with that…

Six O'Clock News

he sat in the parking lot,
a Vietnam vet, breathing hard,
fog rising in the cold....

across the way two kids
were getting ready to raise
the flag... just another day....

they'd been married for 30 years.
he met her when he was thirty,
and she was just sixteen....

now he was over sixty,
and his health was bad....
and she'd been fooling around

with a man her own age.
he just couldnt see, just couldnt
believe... nowhere to go.
