Quotes about flag, page 58
A Wife—at daybreak I shall be
461
A Wife—at daybreak I shall be—
Sunrise—Hast thou a Flag for me?
At Midnight, I am but a Maid,
How short it takes to make a Bride—
Then—Midnight, I have passed from thee
Unto the East, and Victory—
Midnight—Good Night! I hear them call,
The Angels bustle in the Hall—
Softly my Future climbs the Stair,
I fumble at my Childhood's prayer
So soon to be a Child no more—
Eternity, I'm coming—Sire,
Savior—I've seen the face—before!

Odysseus
I saw him, a brave man, a king
standing tall at the helm
wearing the armour of great Achilles
carrying a great sword on his back
steering against a stormy wind
and renown among his own men
as the man whose plan made Troy fall
but beside him I saw a maiden
in gleaming armour, with lightning bolts
intertwining like snakes just below her breasts
with flowing long golden hair blowing like a flag
and in a ravaging sea they journey on
escaping the wrath of the waves, the storm
and the monsters that dwell in it.

Star of Bethlehem
‘Will you come again? ’
I asked you that evening
Your steps moved silently
Towards the door
The setting sun by then
Stealthily entered through
The door ajar
All set to grab you
The floor under my feet
Felt damp
Dusk, gathering its shadows
The question silently repeated
As silently as the stars that
Revealed themselves
On the fading sky
You turned your head
Standing one step
Outside the door

Fortresses
Fortresses are built on the mighty mounds
Keeping war within the country, and it sounds.
Fight along the time of war and you are victorious,
Just as the ancestry will prevail in your mentality.
Forcing the imagination with war-like attributes
Cancels the war effort, and effort must be preserved.
To win the skirmish of war is faster in the thinking
And once we see surrender, we see a flag of joy.
We need fortresses of great weight and danger
That have feeling of battle, on the top of the head.

The Worst Crime
On my pouffe I add the worst crime,
The rejuvenation has begun of a time that conquers;
The rabble subside into the horizon,
Like radar I see them off, like war.
It is a rendezvous, a ready spread,
This event needs a ratchet-wheel to conquer
The slopes we enrich with movement.
This is my rendition of a worst pause,
The times of stamina are abating.
Strangle someone once you care,
Like a dog so paused at the will of the master.
On this day I relax and contemplate
In order to clasp the flag of defeat.

At The Parade
I cannot flap a flag
Or beat a drum;
Behind the mob I lag
With larynx dumb;
Alas! I fear I'm not
A Patriot.
With acrid eyes I see
The soul of things;
And equal unto me
Are cooks and kings;
I would not cross the street
A duke to meet.
Oh curse me for a fool
To be so proud;
To stand so still and cool
Amid the crowd.
For President or Peer
God, let me cheer!

In The Small Park Aza Rd. Rechavia Thirty- Five Years Later
IN THE SMALL PARK AZA RD. RECHAVIA
Thirty- five years
Have gone by
I was alone then here
My family in America
Lonely and beginning in love.
Here now
In official old age
And not tired
My children far
And worried about-
I do what I did then
Write a small poem
And pretend
I am making my name
An eternity.
The cars go by as they did then

Real Soul of Divinity
After a midnight rooftop song
In the slow and comforting rain,
The dirty city is so charmingly haunted
Beside your wet summer hair
Swaying as sweetly as a flag.
Later in the black night,
We wave down a yellow cab
And instruct the driver
To move gently along avenues
Littered with turned over trash cans
And tortured saints of addiction.
I'm relieved to unburden my crestfallen heart
With a fellow human being
Just trying to slide through existence
Without hurting anyone
Or losing her real soul of divinity.

Dirge OF Nelson
Toll Nelson's knell! a soul more brave
Ne'er triumphed on the green-sea wave!
Sad o'er the hero's honoured grave,
Toll Nelson's knell!
The ball of Death unerring flew;
His cheek has lost its ardent hue;
He sinks, amid his gallant crew!
Toll Nelson's knell!
Yet lift, brave chief, thy dying eyes;
Hark! loud huzzas around thee rise;
Aloft the flag of conquest flies!
The day is won!
The day is won--peace to the brave!
But whilst the joyous streamers wave,
We'll think upon the victor's grave!
Peace to the brave!

Made In India
Made in India
They stirred the smart children
to get ranks,
to fill banks,
to join money race,
to forget humanity trace!
Children are grown up
They don't inhale petals of rose
spends nights with heavy booze
They don't see sunrise,
their elbows raise with sensex raise,
Least bothered about 'East',
tries to settle in the west,
They don't salute to 'National Flag',
Always surrenders to 'Statue of Liberty',
They have dollar dreams,
