Gossip Ruins Relationships
People try to make themselves look good
saying lies about people which is misunderstood.
Misunderstood to all that hear
using gossip that will shred and tear.
Tear relationships down to the ground
before relationships have a chance to grow very sound.
We learned this at a very young age
by adults that wanted to control what we think and say.
This a spell they cast on our ears
we are unconsciously saying things now
without being sincere.
So be conscious of what you say
say about people close to you every day.

An Older Guy's Blues
I've had a long identity crisis,
A messy, mucky one,
With a mixture of sad and solitary vices
And not a single shred of fun!
I used to lie awake at night
Reading books by Edmund White -
I used to worry that I was queer,
But I soon found out I'm not, no fear! !
But I've had to make do with imagination
'Cos there's no way I'll ever score,
And who wants the shame and humiliation
Of being told you're too old and a crashing bore?
So do you really need an explanation
Of why I fancy young barmaids at the pub?
I like them, that's no exaggeration
But could I get it up? Aye, there's the rub! !

5 Till
The holiday of love is within the week
And not a shred of hope is there
I will not connect my heart is weak
No-one is for me no love is to share
It's insane how I feel
In a town where I am hated
By the people who listen
To fake tempers escalated
Where people will judge you long before
They even know your name
If you're pretty you're still a whore
Even on Saint Valentine's Day
So if you are out there
And valentine less as well
This is for you if you care
My heart is up for sale

The Bell that Rings at Midnight
The bell that rings at midnight makes us weep
and taints the tears that fall upon the page.
It mocks the lost ideas we fail to keep,
and clouds our dreams with caustic camouflage.
Enveloping and shrowding every shred
of forced imagination's courted word.
The writers drag their sorry ar$e to bed,
the search is now abandoned as absurd.
The pillow waits and greets them with regret,
no solace there, no respite from the fight.
Impossibly we chase the Poet's Debt,
the muse has turned her back on us in spite.
They're turning to their meds to help them sleep
The bell that rings at midnight makes us weep

There Are Those Exceptions
Many have spent lifetimes,
Doing their best...
To manipulate the presence of truth.
And yet there is not one shred of proof,
That a doing of this has led them to success.
However...
There are those exceptions!
Millions of dollars are spent,
In the celebrating of holidays created...
To allow the threats of terrorists,
Opportunities to rest...
As everyone is welcomed to join the festivities.
'But...
Where are the terrorists? '
~Ssshhh.
They are no threat to us on holidays.
Or on weekends.
Just Monday through Friday.

Cover-ups
Shred the evidence. Tear it to bits.
Make it a puzzle so nothing fits.
Do whatever you have to do
so the finger doesn't point at you.
Isn't that what we see at the top?
It's what they do. It doesn't stop.
The higher up you go the worse it becomes.
These sleazy characters are just the crumbs
that are left scattered all around
as the walls of justice fall to the ground.
And what of the victims that are the prey.
In their situation do they have any say?
We hear these horror stories and don't understand
why so many higher-ups had their head in the sand.
I say just follow the money-trail.
There's where the truth will be without fail.

Counsel 101
How can I tell you
Of the gnawing Pain
Of Betrayal
Or the devastation of Abuse
When you live
In a Utopia
Blinded by the trappings
Of your own
Deceiving dilemma?
How can you even grasp
Perception of cutting words
That shred the very soul
Echoing through the years
Darkening a life
That was never whole?
You have no right
To speak of counsel
Nor empty rhetoric
And presumptive insight
That all is well

Shadow Boxing
the war on drugs
the war for correctness
the war on terror
fought with the weapons of
drugs
terror
blatant inhumanity
it's a war alright
a war against freedom
fought from the inside
against itself
a cancer
that can only be cured
with civil action
while we still have the option
this country runs on business
we have no time for the considerations
of the individual
what are you going to do about it
myself

The Treasure Of The Wise Man
O the night was dark and the night was late,
And the robbers came to rob him;
And they picked the locks of his palace-gate,
The robbers that came to rob him--
They picked the locks of his palace-gate,
Seized his jewels and gems of state,
His coffers of gold and his priceless plate,--
The robbers that came to rob him.
But loud laughed he in the morning red!--
For of what had the robbers robbed him?--
Ho! hidden safe, as he slept in bed,
When the robbers came to rob him,--
They robbed him not of a golden shred
Of the childish dreams in his wise old head--
'And they're welcome to all things else,' he said,
When the robbers came to rob him.

Darkness Falls
Darkness falls within my soul.
I no longer can keep control.
I'm going mad with contempt and hate,
All the voices around me grate with no abate.
Darkness falls no where to hide.
Losing hope with no more pride.
I've lost my will.
I've lost my faith.
Jesus how I hate the human race.
Darkness falls it surrounds me now.
I scream and shout to hush the crowd.
In firece rage I threaten now.
To hurt and kill the wretched foul.
They make me sick,
they make me cry.
Why won't God just let me die?
