Pride Of The Flag

Fourth of August (1914) war was declared,
Thousands to the cause they flocked, they appeared not scared.
'Do their bit, do their stuff,
all be over by Christmas! ! '

Four years the war grinds back and forth, opposing lines,
carnage and brutality, as insanity shines.
750,000 had died,
200,000 plus never found, forever lost,
common sense it seems was never tried,
at unforgivable cost.
Generations perished,
what a price.
Is our freedom cherished?
Do we ever think of their ultimate sacrifice?

Pride of the flag,
to their deaths it did drag.!

Louise Ipsen og C. St. A. Bille

Før Talen
Vort Liv har mangen Høitidsdag,
Hvor Hjertet hejser Krands og Flag
Og dog i Alvor banker;
Da løfte sig ved Orgelklang,
Saa tillidsfuldt i Glædes-Sang,
De stille Alvors-Tanker.
Gud er hos os paa Lykkens Dag,
Han styrker os ved Modgangs Slag.
Hvor kan da Hjertet bæve!
Ung Elskov i sin Blomsterflor
Med Kronen ind i Himlen groer.
Did op sig Tanken hæve!

Efter Talen
I knælede for Herrens Bord,
Udtalte Sammenholdets Ord,
Som Troskab kan dem sige.
I eders Sind er Ungdoms Vaar,
Den blive, selv bag sølvhvidt Haar,

Every Day

War is no longer declared,
only continued. The monstrous
has become everyday. The hero
stays away from battle. The weak
have gone to the front.
The uniform of the day is patience,
its medal the pitiful star of hope above the heart.

The medal is awarded
when nothing more happens,
when the artillery falls silent,
when the enemy has grown invisible
and the shadow of eternal armament
covers the sky.

It is awarded
for desertion of the flag,
for bravery in the face of friends,
for the betrayal of unworthy secrets
and the disregard

A Member Of The Corps

He was small for a Marine,
The dying boy there in the bed.
Three times he'd fought off cancer
but now, inside his head,
a serious infection
would claim his life instead.

Cody Green was only twelve.
All his life he'd loved the Corps.
They made him a navigator,
The insignia he wore.
An honorary soldier
A marine in time of war.

The crises was upon him.
He would not win this fight
A fellow member of the Corps
Stood honor guard all night

There would be a flag draped coffin

This Land Is Your Land

Baby soon the summer will come
Were going to race down to the sea
Let love drown us in a kiss that never quits
No beggar hands
No acquiescence to the fat cat liars
Fight the gated communities
Don’t let your neighborhood become nothing
Don’t let it become the new reservation
Don’t let their bull and flag waving deceive you
Fight these vamps for the rich
Push the shills out of the way
These right-wingers work for Dracula
Baby can you feel it in your veins
Stand by your man and fight them with me
This land is your land this land is my land

Life Here

He loves the rich and poor
In entire dreams of youth;
Plenty of hours are spent
In the latitudes of this country.

This country has colours of honour,
In its flag the strokes of essence
Can be conspicuous for the alert
And hard hearts of this very country.

The rich explore and this concerns me
For they drag the beaten soldiers
Into the wombs of their mothers,
Reflecting from mirrors like light.

This light I have coloured in my book,
For children explain and explore
To concentrate their minds on
Innocence, the very deal in life of the country.

Love Riding

such a wild horse
sleeps within
just to gallop
just to move fast
as storm
to ransack stone to dust
such the wild hoofs
to break the jaws
the salient feature of untold apache

wild his move awakes
with transmitted warm
aflames to ratify
the dribbling tracks of tunicked soil
to strip off every silence to flag
the flood of noise
pain and pleasure
the wild

Vetrans Day

I give you my thanks
though it may seem trifle
For the time you spent
clutching your rifle

I hope you feel proud
each and every day
For you served your country
in more than one way

If someone shakes you hand
may you feel thanks in their grip
I hope you see thanks in their tear
appreciation in their quivering lip

I know these are just words
but they come from the heart
They are meant to honor a Veteran
for doing more than his or her part
