Quotes about heady, page 7

Waking up!

the smell of coffee brewing,
dark, and strong and heady....
sunlight working its way through blinds,

and the nip of autumn air.
the song in my head no one
else can hear, coming from nowhere....

the sharpness of things seen,
and things not easily seen....
thoughts pulling like undefined gravity,

driving me to get up, and go again.
time passes, leaves fall,
but the tree remains, strong and steady,

ready for the coming storms.
something deep inside my darkest hour,
affirms that spring will come again....

We'd lie atop the mountain, reminiscing...

We embraced the fears in hand, monumental.
Here mountains standards we came to climb,
We carved a jade path through the incidental…
Chain-mail dew-lit; frozen ice, there to smell the thyme.

Freshly crushed at dusk at morning sunrise
There's where we'd lay a throbbing, chanting, chorus
Starting out nervous, nothing else belies,
The way we shivered, sweated, yet, so porous…

After; love made low a wheat-field agleam.
Taking-on all the passionate golden-sun!
We'd rest in the silos multifaceted dream
Heavy, heady, with so much singing; still to be done.

Like foxgloves entwined with as many kissing
Mouths, we'd lie atop the mountain, reminiscing…

Crazy Clay

Is it sweet destiny that I am in your hands?
Molded to your desire on bracing fire
I wake up to lazy, latent earth trysts
As your potent fingers tease me to life

I arouse to a man's enigma, sensuous as earth
Revel in caresses that melt my brown life
Thrill to heady moments riding high
As passion waltzes her way between us

Does your woman know you in this obsessive state?
In this intimacy that riots through you and me
Perfecting union in those feverish hours
Creation at her sultry, rapturous best…

I am earth and clay most of my life
Sired by Gaia when the gods were playing
You were molded from me and breathed alive
Destiny turns a full circle now, I smile…

As the Monsoon Recedes

Besides the heady fragrance
Of the wet earth,
Freashly bathed green trees,
(Evoking images of a damsel
stroking her wet tresses)
Garden weeds,
And the sound of the rain
Music to my ears, after
Scorching summer,
Dust storms and hot winds.

I loved the
Croaking of the frogs.
After dusk fall
Twinkling fireflies.
The call of the Cicadas,
Although a bit
Eerie at night.

I would exclaim

I Will Have To Work Hard

I will have to work hard
I will have to work hard
This world is a mischief, full of hazards
I can not sleep, i may not be in the womb
A dream is nourishing, smoldering like a bomb
People are racing towards a dark cave
This dream is heady, but not a dupe slave
An eye in a dream or a dream in an eye
Hatched in black, exploring a blue sky
It is still tidy, doesn't need any nard
I will have to work hard
I will have to work hard

It is clean, It is holy
empowered by God
It's soul is almighty with healthy bod
A long way to go, a long way to go
Wings are mature, now ground is below
never weary, never desire a bard
I will have to work hard

Epilogue

Part 1

a '69 Chevy truck,
making its way slowly
up the old logging road,
centipede crawl, the scent
of the pines...
to a small clearing,
where we set up camp.
pitched the tent,
gathered wood for the fire.

enough daylight left,
we began the climb,
up the steep grade
to the top...
the cry of the bobcat,
startles...
then laughter, and we
moved on up.

I Know My Problems! (Revised)

They create TV series showing people under
emotional stress continuing their work - well,
according to books people do that, probably -
ideally - but I can't, I can't do a thing

Reality is unbearably powerful and big, my
alternative universe is small, unreachable, high
hopes I had of being able to deal with this day
evaporates under that heady realisation

No problem at home has been resolved, only
clearly labelled, painstakingly filed - for later
attention - meantime, I have work on my
desk - yet my mind refuses

To complete circuits required to bring about
logical thinking, looking up things and writing
down lines; but at least I know my problems
are psychological

Our World

We live in a world of deceit and greed,
But, also one of beauty and honor-I must concede
There is an enigmatic dichotomy to be sure;
The diversity that confounds, also provides its allure!
The same world that will make your heart break,
Is the same world that is sure to make
You believe in God, if you do not already!
Think about all the world has to offer-its heady
Just to ponder its sheer magnificence;
It makes us all accept our own insignificance-
We are naught more than microscopic dots on a massive canvas
That is the ever-changing painting, that is
Our world-yes, our's-and we are its stewards-
If we take care of Her, She showers us with rewards!

To err is human ‘songstresses’.

She's a contralto,
With high sustaining, notes
Her voice is a salvo,
O’ the rapture, she emotes
Calling-on spicy, Bacchus...
In “lightness' or 'heaviness'.

She specializes in control.
Like a skylark, circling at
Dawn’s heartstring, cajole!
Her lips; heady, Muscat
Sing, their ritual, madness.
On this poor sap; Dionysus…

He fought with giant, titans
The dramatic is the deepest.
Florid passages filled heaven,
His tears wept there; shrillest.
She was like a priestess
Or better still a princess.

A Poem On Recession

A family left homeless
Starving in the cold
Robbed of all they had
Through no fault of their own

They cling to the wealth care
Of a now broken state
A country on it knees
Pleading for some aid

Gone the heady days
When succession bells rang out
Another account closed
Another business bought

All paid for in loans
A promise that was not kept
So many turned a blind eye
And did not see what came
