Sea Spray

Sea spray charges towards me
Spitting, salivating horses
or some kind of menacing, murdering monster.
And I am Andromeda,
A sacrifice to the sea
Nothingness washes over me
as I watch and wait for the white horses
to carry the hearse-boat to the Underworld

Salty spray, like shampoo
washing the hair of the sea
Her waves of weed and jellyfish
rinsed by the purifying putrefying salt,
She’s some sort of siren
I feel the magnet pull inside me
Tempestuous temptation
And I understand why John Masefield
was compelled to the sea again and again

In The Harbour: Memories

Oft I remember those I have known
In other days, to whom my heart was lead
As by a magnet, and who are not dead,
But absent, and their memories overgrown
With other thoughts and troubles of my own,
As graves with grasses are, and at their head
The stone with moss and lichens so o'er spread,
Nothing is legible but the name alone.
And is it so with them? After long years.
Do they remember me in the same way,
And is the memory pleasant as to me?
I fear to ask; yet wherefore are my fears?
Pleasures, like flowers, may wither and decay,
And yet the root perennial may be.

Insolent And Malicious

You had an angel-like appearance
As we both were groping our way
Along mysterious highways lost.

Remarkable how hidden and forgotten love
Resurfaces when you meet a heavenly soul
In the hour of desperation after every sacred dream
As been abandoned to emotional trash heaps.

How utterly strange to kiss you in the dark rain
And how surprised I was to even remember how!
But your thin adorable mouth pulled me like a magnet.

You thought I was being insolent with this maneuver
And malicious with my fondness for you,
But every fiber of my painful existence was seeking love.

Dead Time.

sometimes i feel that music
is all the same
is all connected
is not original
anymore
and never was

sometimes i feel i am
a creature capable only of
ephemeral love
a rose, a prose that dies too soon
unless watered down by
the elusive

sometimes i feel like i am
a magnet to the unrequited
an outlet for the spited
a threshold for the uninvited
a dying light for the benighted

Love Resurrection

I want to be just you and me
The music to play
To hide in a lonely place
To taste a bottle of red wine

To kiss you full of passion
Like there is no tomorrow
You are the sea, i am the wind
Touch you softly, touch you wildly

Your body dynamite alight
Your breath stops the time
Your kiss, frozen me, burning me
Your glance like magnet

We roll like the river, from bed
to walls, from tables to rugs
Like a piano melody our fingers
Touching wet body

The Sea And My Gold

With my deep eye of eyes

when each eye had tak’n to their bed,

my gold, I saw in the oth’r part of the Red Sea,

the Big Red Sea of the man Moses.

At the other side of the sea

where the sea her bank has,

I snap’d to see brave, brave heads

swimming to magnet their own gold,

but I ask’d for mine, they refus’d me.

Sonnet - The Earth

What beauty has the planet Earth! my gosh!
The only place where life seems to exist;
Discontent man is searching for worlds posh;
In extra-terrestrial planet-list.

The safest place to live is earth as yet;
The only one for man in Solar orb;
Five billion years-old earth alone is wet;
And wears the blue atmosphere as its garb.

The crust of earth solidified from gas;
And animals were born before came man;
The continental drifts, ice came to pass;
But no one knows when human beings ran?

The magnet Earth has gravity of own
Which keeps all things from flying off but down.

Dream Some Little Dream

…afterwards I laid back down
and spread my palms down on the ground
it wasn’t long before I found
myself inside a little dream
I heard a sound and looked around
and saw them swimming in the stream
a horrid sight I turned my head
and let loose a silent scream
the fish you see were busy there
eating a piece of me
I shook it of and brushed my head
I watched a leaf fall to the ground
as busy brownie moved around
and called me names but made no sound
I felt a pressure push me down
like a magnet to the ground
the fish they splashed in their little stream
as I began to dream some little dream

Attractions And Distractions

at 18
attraction is a magnet
nails and
shreds of iron fillings
all absorbed

at 25
something changes
because of
the seeping pains
i doubt and i begin
to know
that i am

at 35
one wavers about
what to attract
and when to be
attracted
selective they say
