Quotes about flag, page 76
General Christiaan De Wet At Doornberg
(after David Naude)
In the dust lay de Wet's son;
he prayed to God, further did not say a word,
traitors came under a white flag,
spied for the British before the battle;
it was very sad to see
while a brave man served his country.
On his hands was his own son's blood
but he still gave courage to his men
causing the British and traitors to loose,
driving them back over the Zant River
winning more fame in the world's eyes
while a brave man served his country.
The British had fled past Winburg
to avoid general de Wet's commando,
some of the traitors were very scared
when the Boer commando captured them;

Damaged Staunch
A route you 'll live close to far - equinox doldrum;
complete it was, some flaws in, tangible to revive
moments when my coastal ports stare of me, upon
my knots link to northern parallels, light of dawn,
(how could you be with me upon, a ghostly dawn?)
My dimmer of a Southern Cross, a damaged staunch;
imperious, an ideal route, moorings within stars,
we pilot in strange ports, Sete Cari, Bacau, Aden
Horizon of misty cutter fog, we to repair a rudder
(a blow of eery, ghostly wind, danger of half-tides)
Rains, embraced adjoining, you of a picture still,
my flag's domain persecutes, mail, my post arrives,
absently you - yet absolute, as all my life's tinder,
A gift of your trajectory, an odd caress to abide,
(shallows hide dangers, tidal washed rock's side..)

The Eagle of the Blue
ALOFT he guards the starry folds
Who is the brother of the star;
The bird whose joy is in the wind
Exulteth in the war.
No painted plume—a sober hue,
His beauty is his power;
That eager calm of gaze intent
Foresees the Sibyl’s hour.
Austere, he crowns the swaying perch,
Flapped by the angry flag;
The hurricane from the battery sings,
But his claw has known the crag.
Amid the scream of shells, his scream
Runs shrilling; and the glare
Of eyes that brave the blinding sun
The volleyed flame can bear.

Papa Is Transcendent
That tranquil hill and the rippling river
Serene at both sides of the road
We hand in hand walking faster
To that temple to worship its Lord
Sitting for a while on the sliding steps
Down to the river from inside the temple
Then prostrating before the Lord with our prayers
Next going round the sanctorum nine times ample
Coming out and again prostrating
Before the flag-mast in acceptance of His Blessings
Coming back home to sit next to you
Enjoying the supper mom served us
And before bed, still clinging to you
To listen to you on stars and stories
Under the open sky at night were in repeats.
When cold morn dawned one day in shivers
Papa, you became still to give me tears.
You were dead and transcendent.
Memories are haunting me. Please come back, papa.

First Past The Post System Feb 10th,2011
First-past-the-post system ensures that the winners indeed know the score,
Because the collected votes of the others combined are much more,
And then add that proportional representation is banned,
Some constituents don’t vote because they feel the outcome is canned.
Because their votes are meaningless in the mishmash of numbers,
First-past-the-post ensures that the majority are outnumbered,
And no one seems interested in fixing this problem,
They are too busy talking or waving some flag or some emblem.
It is not an election task that is easily explained,
Number one has ten votes more than number two and twelve more than three,
So two and three combined have much more votes than number one,
Number one always wins and majority loose and this is not fun.

A Letter from the Sand 'Be Proud
Today I received a letter from the sand. It read Dear Sir, we regret to inform you that your brother Sgt. Andre Smith was killed two days ago in Iraq, but be proud he died a hero. Now I must read that letters a hundred times but pride never came over me but anger did. Anger that got me asking questions like is proud of what, that my big brother is no longer here? Or should I be proud that they turned my caring brother into murder all under the false flag of freedom? Be proud, I am proud and I was always proud not because Andre died as hero but I am proud because he was my brother.
Note:
This poem is not a true story. Now although my brother Andre did past away he did not die that way, but I wanted to honor him so I used his name in a poem the relates to current affairs

Amongst The Heroes
When God calls me Home, and Eternal Life greets me,
Promise that, at the very least, this one honor meets me:
Lie me down amongst the heroes, one of which I longed to be-
With one American flag, which belonged to me!
Once the mourners have scattered and the grave is filled,
Say a silent prayer for us, which honors the blood we spilled,
And the courage we displayed, 'For God And Country';
With my earthly death comes an Empyrean Life, which He would want me
To embrace and want you to accept, in all its glory;
I implore you-do not allow those left behind to forget our story:
We selflessly sacrificed, '...so that others may live'.
Please ensure our memory remains pervasive,
Amongst all left behind, to provide for inspiration;
Help us leave this last gift, for our great nation!

0194 At last
At last I’m old enough
old enough not to be
embarrassed when
it happens
it can be when
some athlete stands
and mouths the words of
their national anthem
as the flag waves
or a young musician
makes their first, fresh
debut playing some
often played classic
as if it had never
been played before
or a cloud passes and

Indian Tiranga (tricolour)
First unfurled was the Indian tricolor
on Everest the world's highest peak.
All the three colors are deliberated
to give some message and to speak.
Dark saffron, white and Indian green
three colors of Indian national flag
all in horizontal rectangular bars
top to bottom respectively placed.
Green band at bottom say to everyone
grow with greenery and agriculture,
White band in middle of it, gives us
message of peace, truth and culture,
Saffron say us be brave and courageous
don't hesitate to sacrifice if nation needs,
Wheel of twenty four spokes at centre
tells, on path of progress always proceed.

Star Wars
STAR WARS
God was not happy with the goings-on
Resolved to punish the mankind harshly once
Locked himself in the Master-switch room
With a molten red face of anger and disgust
He thought of sending all the natural forces
But, man has conquered each of them long back
When He tickled upon viruses and epidemics
Earth is securely immune and fully vaccinated against
On test, God sent a big fire ball down
But our Mr. Red Adair **, was there to fight it alone
Now, God has no levers to pull
To cause havoc or deter the peoples down
God was tired, self-defeated and was ashamed
To realize that He is no more omnipotent
Wanting a truce under a forced ceasefire
