Quotes about palm, page 9
Gentle Poem
The gentle poem with palms so tender
Caress mine heart and with song render
A man sweet, whom was born a brute
Now as gentle as love's played flute
Tranquil I play in her love's fair
And run my fingers down her love's lyre
Never was a love's palm so tranquil
As my love touched a polished heart; genteel
The placid lake of her palms blood
Did gradually inundate my mind's flood
And write her name in my soul clement
For my love to taste and nobly lament
The gentle poem of her calm palm
And sing to me, her amiable psalm
Of ‘love is love in a mine dove-like touch
Lady like, civil, elegant as such
A love like me, sings softly
I love you my love so quietly'….

Sea Canaries
The small white whales in packs of pods
keep their pacts with us, the fated beasts.
They wail their songs and the water wavers,
and we who signed them waive our rights
to have them. Here is where they belong,
all right, and here is where I leave them:
their pale, bountiful bodies to the sea.
I see a pail of fish and I would rather
feed on palm wood than palm one up
to shed it to those seabirds. To bate the brink

Not Saying Goodbye at Gate 21
(Wellington NZ: September 2010)
The final call
for boarding
hand-luggage scanned,
the last, forgotten,
canned drink binned.
I watch him through the glass
walk to the door and hand
over his printed pass.
He waves,
makes the clown's face
that means 'Cheer up,
this time, I won't be gone
for long'. He turns,
then turns back, lifts one hand
to the terrorist-proof glass. We place
palm to palm
remembered skin

Letters
i feel a feverish pulsation
pass through my veins
as i look at each word
uttered or unuttered
placed in the cup of my palm
bound by time, the
words disintegrate
and each letter
slips and slides
into a timeless space
mostly never to return…
i crack under the weight
of the silence they leave behind
but
the ones that return
to the warmth of my palm
are drained of the pulsating

Expert Dentist Dr Joseph
There is a dentist on Palm Beach,
who really knows how to fix your teeth.
Dr. Mitchell Joseph is his name,
your teeth will never be the same,
because 'Expert Dentistry' is his game.
His Star treatment makes you feel grand,
when his office picks you up in a limousine not a van,
driving you to his dentist office by ocean and sand.
Photos of Dr. Josephs, family and staff I did take,
to display past patients smiles real great.
By promoting his business in Palm Beach Today.
showing how he can prevent tooth decay.
Dr. Mitchell Joseph also is a generous soul,
he gave me a big tip at the Italian Bistro.
Just one more thing you should know,
he is an expert so listen his “Tooth Talk” radio show.

A homeless whisper
Teeth stammering an outstreched hand
It’s the hand of the night the palm so lineless blue
A discourse patterned upon the hooks
Form sky to sky stretching
Remember the time when the night simply pushed me away
Fell down in a homeless whisper amberless flame burning
Verse dived I plunged no pebble no water
Could contain the drop
Endlessly down depths vacuum called
‘The stars are down here’
They shine equally proud of their sky mirrored friends
Shattered in a moon reflection
Knew I went too far
Merely a miracle taken performed
That I ever managed to come back
But here I am to sing
The palm of the hand and the lineless night
The fears burned down within the urns of the past
The plunge the pebble and the water
Sing them all and much much more

I shall not Die for thee
O woman, shapely as the swan,
On your account I shall not die:
The men you've slain -- a trivial clan --
Were less than I.
I ask me shall I die for these --
For blossom teeth and scarlet lips --
And shall that delicate swan-shape
Bring me eclipse?
Well-shaped the breasts and smooth the skin,
The cheeks are fair, the tresses free --
And yet I shall not suffer death,
God over me!
Those even brows, that hair like gold,
Those languorous tones, that virgin way,
The flowing limbs, the rounded heel
Slight men betray!
Thy spirit keen through radiant mien,
Thy shining throat and smiling eye,
Thy little palm, thy side like foam --
I cannot die!

My Realistic Sister
when she speaks
there will always be truth to it.
she told you
it wouldn't work
and it did not really work.
see? she is Cassandra.
see? the rails are cut off now
the train stops.
she speaks from the past lives she had.
once she was Cleopatra, she knew any Julius Caesar.
now she is telling me the same thing.
i am afraid, this thing too that i have in my palm
will not work. I am crushing it, but i still doubt it.
i wish it were a bird with strong bones.

I shall not die for thee
FOR thee, I shall not die,
Woman of high fame and name;
Foolish men thou mayest slay
I and they are not the same.
Why should I expire
For the fire of an eye,
Slender waist or swan-like limb,
Is't for them that I should die?
The round breasts, the fresh skin,
Cheeks crimson, hair so long and rich;
Indeed, indeed, I shall not die,
Please God, not I, for any such.
The golden hair, the forehead thin,
The chaste mien, the gracious ease,
The rounded heel, the languid tone,—
Fools alone find death from these.
