Thumbnails and finger ends
A book of learned scholarship,
open in my hands, at the first page…
and then I saw, to the right of it,
my thumb nail…and marvelled –
at its perfection, at its beauty,
and at my own ignorance –
which strangely, was all part

Snake Worship
Placing a whip
on the heads of reason
he said, 'Long live, democracy! '
With shells strewn everywhere
he proposed for 'peace zone'
and said
'Long live, peace! '
Biting the parched bellies and naked bodies
like a cobra
he said, 'Long live patience! '
and declared that he was Naag - the snake god
and for centuries
in this meek county
got the people to worship him.

Life is a Battle Field; Fight and Fight
Hello! Hello! Oh, yellow bellied fellow -
Runs for everything yet gets nothing, a lily-livered fellow,
Life is ethereal some say yet cruel i see, oh anserine fellow
Life is a kind of sirocco, lo, chickenhearted fellow.
Topsy-turvy life, tipsy-nervy life and Jumpy-jolty life
As my life sucks for bucks - vocalized Booby, Boo! Boo!
Childhood is besotted with education - marked by fecklessness,
Youth is wasted in illusion - marked by forlornness,
Mild age is passed in the delusion - harkened by groundlessness,

Thank You
I've tried my very best but memories are hard to evict
They feel like a monkey on my back as if I'm an addict
Daily I attempt to shake them off more often than not
But they remain right here as if my head is a parking lot
I really don't want to visit every place I have been before
But thinking of you makes me happy and so I will do it more
Although I knew that loosing you has always been a valid threat
I accepted the risk and embraced the temptation without sweat
I want to thank you that you never took for granted what I gave
That you let me take your heart and body to enslave
Our love was so destructive and overwhelming all the time
It would have never lasted without ending in a passionate crime
You opened a world for me that I never knew to exist
We challenged each other with things we checked off a list

Losses
It was not dying: everybody died.
It was not dying: we had died before
In the routine crashes-- and our fields
Called up the papers, wrote home to our folks,
And the rates rose, all because of us.
We died on the wrong page of the almanac,
Scattered on mountains fifty miles away;
Diving on haystacks, fighting with a friend,
We blazed up on the lines we never saw.
We died like aunts or pets or foreigners.

Golden Waves (The Aftermath)
As she walked away into the night
and left me standing alone,
it seemed an eternity before I could move.
I watched her silhouette
grow smaller and smaller
until it disappeared out of sight.
Tears rolled down my cheeks.
What was I to do?
In the days that passed,
the newspapers were filled with stories
of whom the world would
eventually call the fab four.
Their music echoed out from everywhere
