Quotes about mention, page 7

Charles Lamb

On The Lord's Prayer

I have taught your young lips the good words to say over,
Which form the petition we call the Lord's Prayer,
And now let me help my dear child to discover
The meaning of all the good words that are there.

'Our Father,'-the same appellation is given
To a parent on earth, and the Parent of all-
O gracious permission! the God that's in heaven
Allows his poor creatures him Father to call.

To 'hallow his name,' is to think with devotion
Of it, and with reverence mention the same;
Though you are so young, you should strive for some notion
Of the awe we should feel at the Holy One's name.

His 'will done on earth, as it is done in heaven,'
Is a wish and a hope we are suffered to breathe

A peace for trial

What a love depicting scene?
never witnessed and seen
it is dying need of an hour
when can we smell a flavor?

When will we live as one?
when that thought will be borne?
when our children will be free from all tension?
Peace and love should find only mention

I long and wait for happy moments
when peace march to halt can be glorious movement?
all races and humans to act together
provide peace a chance and breather

No where we heard a war cry?
Remorse at heart and feel very shy
Always puzzling trend and asking, why?
We did all crimes against humanity without fair try

He is gone

He might have deserted you
Also put to lots of incontinence through
But main concern is deception
He followed it even from inception

You had no choice but accept
The way he chose darkness and kept
Little uneasy course to fall in line
Nothing went smooth and very fine

It was do or die approach
You bore anguish and pain as such
You were unhappy from the heart
Still you kept quite and did not start

He robbed you not of cash or ornaments
But your love, trust and sentiments
It was unmaking of complete companion
There was no alternative left but to break the union

Pose a question

She stared at my eyes as if to pose a question?
I could see anxiety on her face but found no mention
She looked worry ridden and closed eyes with tension
I could sense some urgency in her for submission

I was her long associate on the web site
She may come often on line and apprise
She was not renowned writer but talented one
Her ideas flowed with situation and run

I told her about my future plan to visit her country
She prompted me by saying why I preferred entry?
There were plenty or countries with fine landscapes
Why that has not struck me in mind and escaped?

She wanted to know exact reason behind my trip
I took care not to mention correctly without tongue slip
She expressed her inability to offer me any hospitality
As she was very poor and lacked basic amenity

Educate Woman

To educate a woman is to educate a nation
Do not deprive the woman of education
Do let her know what she is to mention
Wherever she goes throughout the nation

Let her use skill in estimation
Let her learn what is real; not hallucination
Give her a chance to get that that salutation
Which men do get because of education

A woman that has much education
Will teach her children motivation
She’ll train them to support the nation
They’ll always have the best of intention

Knowledge is essential in every institution
The family too needs education
The woman’s own is more to mention
Educated women save the nation

A real tension

Human beings are always hunted by the tension
They confine it to themselves and fear its mention
Tension and peace can’t remain one and go together
Mad race after oasis water to collect more and gather

What do we get after relentless struggle and efforts?
Does that help to build confidence and good rapports?
Without good will how ships can make courtesy call at ports?
How can it survive without the popular support?

What leads to an uncommon sufferings and tragedy?
Why all off sudden life takes turn and looks like comedy?
Do we not become laughing stock in public eyes?
There may remain many “if, but and why”

It is definitely greed that brings us down
Many people turn hostile and frown
It is our own dong and can’t blame others
Unnecessary thought may invade and continuously bother

Special prayers

Why prayers have lead role to play?
No one can offer any explanation and say?
How is that it gives immediate relief to mind?
We find Joy and happiness of special kind

It is serving as medicine to ailing body
Prayer is only alternative left to everybody
No restriction on visiting any holy place
So long it serves purpose and offers solace

It has unique way of offering calm
Peace prevails without any particular harm
It has tremendous impact on rage and fury
Relieves of any tension and no addition of worry

What generally do we offer in our prayers?
Do we go there as sellers or buyers?
Is that only our purpose for getting relief?
Does that not strengthen or faith and belief/

Worlds Within Worlds

There are worlds within worlds in this world of ours
as there are seconds in minutes and minutes in hours.
Take for example the world of the artists and their creations
how they represent aspects of nature and physical situations.
Or the world of writers whether it be that of drama, prose or poetry
how they express themselves in words of ever increasing ambiguity.

Then there’s the world of music and of a musician’s composition
in which are combined sounds of harmonic and varied precision.
And we have the world of nature and the life of all living things
of their instinct for survival and of what man’s place in it brings.
We must therefore consider the world of science and its discoveries
where in that pursuit for knowledge our future gives no guarantees.

There’s also a world of despair and that of faith and hope
how in the midst of pain or difficulties we’re able to cope.
We must also mention the world of love and its opposite hate
where we care for each other or go about in a destructive state.
There are worlds within worlds in this world of ours here
and in every one of them we try to achieve something dear.

My Peggy Mitchell (Chant Royal)

Her smile seems so serene and sweet as if it’s everlasting
while she is still basking in rays of sunshine
although storm clouds are gathering,
and her beauty is something of the divine
and almost careless
our loving comes in swiftness
while she is drawing attention,
telling me things that no other woman will even mention
but she has an own dignity
are spirited to my apprehension
and from all cares she seems free.

In her humanity there is something
that does not meet the eye, something sublimely fine
and far too easily she makes my heart sing
when every smile of hers is mine
and I see a kind of kindness
shining through her loveliness
a kind of deep emotion
bringing a deepness to every affection,

Boadicea..a different view.

Boadicea revels in her womanhood, attributes overly blessed
Her voluptuous form is excited, but her hair is a mess
This covert and dangerous clandestine meeting
Allows no niceties or extended greeting
To cavort with this legionnaire
Would cost her kingdom, but love is never fair
She will lead her army, come daylight, against the Romans
But history makes no mention of the turmoil she as she indulges this romance

She will wield her sword well
And send this occupying force to the bowels of hell
She hopes in the throes of battle, not to have to have to face this handsome foe
Let someone else have that honour if it is so to be
This disciplined nation must be chased back across the sea

She envisions being burnt at the stake
this affair is a mistake
The urges of the flesh driven by the heart overcomes all rational decisions
She will make herself face the approaching legions
