Quotes about token, page 9
My Love Await's
I know my love wait for
Me,
Over by the brook, where
The blue waters run
Free,
A pink rose he left for
Me..
As a token of his affection
So graciously…
He gave to me…
A pink rose over by the
Brook, where the blue
Water run free…
So now, I will give to
You..
My love sealed with a
Kiss...

Broken
My life is nothing near grate.
Nothing near a bliss.
To you I'm happy.
And you think my life is grate.
But honestly you have no idea.
Becuase I'm breaking inside.
And my hart is almost about to break.
But inside I'm already broken.
Becuase stolen was my token.
My life and hart is broke.
I fear it can't be mended.

The Crown of Thorns
WITH each new day new cares will wait for thee,
Trials and heart-aches; yet do thou not fear,
But take them lovingly, and, weaving them
Into a crown of thorns, wear and let be
For ever on thy head, a diadem,
5
More royal than gold, the dearest token here
Of that sad voice that whispers, "Follow Me."

The omen
I saw men thrusting a bayonet and knife
through the enemy
as though life was meaningless
and killing with a rifle,
an armoured car’s gun
and war devoured
the enemy and the innocent
local population
and the madness and mystery
of having blood
on your hands
was like a omen
and a token
of more killing to come.

A Haven for the Soul
A poem is something
We truly believe in.
It may be...
A struggle for the mind
For the heart a comfort
Tender, kind.
A haven for the soul
Embracing you, me, and all.
A token divine
Deeply cherished inside
Treasuring life with pride.
A path left open...
For others to pursue
And fathom the same journeys
All through.

Well, I'm half Australian, half English and I live in London. That is the only reason I came upon this story. My Australian mother, Meredith Hooper, was invited in late 2007 by some Australian friends to make up a token Australian audience in a tiny fringe theater play reading of an unproduced, unrehearsed play called 'The King's Speech.'

Love Came Down at Christmas
Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, love divine;
Love was born at Christmas,
Star and angels gave the sign.
Worship we the Godhead,
Love incarnate, love divine;
Worship we our Jesus:
But wherewith for sacred sign?
Love shall be our token,
Love shall be yours and love be mine,
Love to God and to all men,
Love for plea and gift and sign.

To E. C. S.
Poet and friend of poets, if thy glass
Detects no flower in winter's tuft of grass,
Let this slight token of the debt I owe
Outlive for thee December's frozen day,
And, like the arbutus budding under snow,
Take bloom and fragrance from some morn of May
When he who gives it shall have gone the way
Where faith shall see and reverent trust shall know.

Echoes
They often come in sweet ways
As powerful as when she prays.
Through melodious sounds resonating
And words of praise wisely spoken
She treasures them - a friendly token.
They will always arrive here
Conveying that peace so dear!
They vividly enhance the mind
Challenging her daily tasks
For years ahead we hope it lasts.

Juan's Song
When beauty breaks and falls asunder
I feel no grief for it, but wonder.
When love, like a frail shell, lies broken,
I keep no chip of it for token.
I never had a man for friend
Who did not know that love must end.
I never had a girl for lover
Who could discern when love was over.
What the wise doubt, the fool believes--
Who is it, then, that love deceives?
